The question why this share hasn't burst through the highs is that there is clearly more selling pressure (maybe the main shareholder) Peel Hunt have traded 10m the last 4 days so I would have thought they have the sell ticket - their volume was high in the previous selling period of the main holder disclosing disposals. Purely speculation/drawing the dots but I think that you may see an RNS to that end soon.
I don't want to push this but I think Dan is a very wealthy guy to be honest.
@CB7: who wouldn’t like directors to be putting more money in? However, there has been a lot going on recently: Kouroussa, Dugbe, results etc, which I expect would prohibit Director buying over the last six months. Don’t forget that Dan and Tom are not hugely wealthy people having had careers of 30+ years. They’re in their early 40s, so the value of holdings are all relative.
Tiger
I did not miss them but given the wealth of these guys I kind of thought they were a little irrelevant (especially factoring in their 0.01p options).
And again I guess that is something we have absolutely no insight on. It's just guess work.
Hi CB7!
I know they weren't huge, but there were several director buys in the spring. Did you miss them?
Also, it's possible (but no more than that) that the current silence from DB has a reason behind it. At this share price, Hummingbird must be an appealing takeover target for fellow West African goldies looking to add ounces (e.g. Endeavour, for one). There may be conversations going on behind the scenes that need to be kept confidential.
Othode
I agree with you entirely with what you said here. I am saying that given all this and the current gold price do you not also agree that Humm have been very quiet to the market and we have still not seen much investment from people on the board after 3/4 very positive quarters, the Dugbe agreement, Koroussa and the recent information regarding the positive drill results? This is merely an observation and If I am the only person with these concerns then maybe I am over thinking.
Hi CB7!
Yes, Hummingbird were a lot more open back in the days when the mine was being built. Partly that was Bert Munro's doing, who is missed here (but good luck to him at Cora). Partly, that was because Hummingbird, with a then half-built mine, needed to keep its share price high, just in case management had to go back to the shareholders for more money to finish it. Now keeping shareholders involved (and potentially willing to stump up more cash in an equity raise) is a whole lot less important.
IMO, that's a good thing!
ha ha 1 post and he is "concerned" !!!! You should have been here when we were at 12p and still generating profit and revenue as one of the newest gold producers on the market!!! How is HUM going to move forward.....erm well in a gold plated vehicle currently worth $243 million in revenue a year!
I also feel like I am repeating myself these days - direct your questions to the company! Then post their reply
Hi Tiger,
I agree with you that there was a lot of information in the recent RNS but I think my concerns are more related to how this is portrayed to the market and how Humm are going to move forward from where they are today. I remember back in 2016/2017 Dan and Bert were giving a lot more attention to the media appearing on podcasts and certain channels a lot more frequently than the company is doing today when in my opinion the company has a lot more to 'shout about' now. What you said specifically about about PR management and splitting the contents in to several releases (along with a few other observations over the last 18 months) is why I am slightly concerned as to the intentions of the board. I by no means hold £1.2 million shares in the company but i have a reasonable amount.
Unfortunately, i do not know anything about institutional investors haha.
@CB7: what do you mean about non-existent information? The latest RNS have us a very full update on operations, drill results (very good and better than expected), Kouroussa (CoC delivered), update on Dugbe where the see through traded price on VEIN is very encouraging, confidence in full year production ($60m EBITDA in 6m to 31/12/20!) and net cash in the next couple of months. We’ll have the interims in the next couple of weeks, so we can see how the balance sheet has strengthened with creditor pay down and that won’t even have the $2.0m deposit from ARX.
So out of all the really “concerning” periods we’ve been through, now is the time your really concerned?
If you’re for real just sell up & follow your gut feeling. I’m following mine and followed the £1.2m buys yesterday and topped up.
There’s a fair few RNS’s released, more than most I would say and what exactly are you looking for? And no not unduly concerned and also finding it verrrry hard to believe that you have been here since 2016 and have never posted on any board, let alone this one until now?! Also shandy has been very quiet recently......
Hi CB7!
Well, the last RNS was 2,500 words long, so you can hardly criticise the lack of detail. With better PR management (an eternal complaint with Hummingbird) its contents would have been split up into several releases - one of which would have been headed "Exceptional Drill Results at Yanfolila", another "Rapid Progress at Kouroussa", whilst a third would have touted the implied value of Hummingbird's share of Dugbe, based on Portofino's mcap.
I assume that Dan will give interviews etc. after the release of the interims, which are only a few weeks away. It does occur to me that we are bing held at this level whilst institutional investors trade large quantities of shares. Would you know anything about that?
Been invested in Humm since 2016 and have not sold or added to my holding since. Just have not previously posted on the Shareboard before. Thanks
What a way to introduce yourself on your first post.
I’m swiping left on this date.
It’s amazing the amount of new posters interested in HUM that know so much about the company, yet at the same time some ii loaded up £1.2m worth of shares yesterday...
Given the current gold price and overall sentiment towards the price of gold moving forward are any other holders of Humm concerned about the lack or shall i say non-existent information that Dan and the Hummingbird team are releasing to the market? I am also still very concerned about the small holding and minimal personal investments of Dans and the people on the board at Humm, again given that there has been such a great upturn in gold price.
