Paddy I know you are a superstar. That is not sarcastic. Logistically this is going to be difficult, Every time I say something negative the price rises! I will carry on ****ed/
Good one I should have said I was going North from Perth and not North East to North Korea. KIM who?
****ie
Karatha. On the ****. Nothing else to do. In shut down!!!!!
Korea has a k in it?
Buggy required with fully stocked fridge on board, me thinks.
Agree with flights. 5 years ago I was flying up North to somewhere with K in it. We had to evacuate the rigs offshore as Aussie regulations. You I magine evacuating the North Sea cause in 2 days its going to be windy. The whole of the oil rigs were shut down in WA and everyone were off the rigs.
Then flown to Perth. Quantas make a fortune out of cyclone season. That is not what I am on about here. Paddy you are brilliant at what you do. Logistically this will go tips up as longas we get the cores in then fine. I have not dropped the price, noone believes me. Ha Ha. Been here a long time.
All I know Trucker is I'm sh*t in bunkers so I'd be screwed trying to play around that course :-) The greens (browns) don't look very appealing either.
I'd like to see Rory teeing it up on that course.
Like my golfing socks Trucks, 18 holes and coarse!
Come on the GGP!
That’s not a golf course Paddy, it’s 18 new holes they’ve put in Hav lol
Keep the faith
Truckerboy
Also - I don't know if you appreciate the size of Telfer - It is literally a town in the middle of no-where. They even have a "golf course" which you can make out to the NE of the town.

Great film that. Very underrated.
I also think they've probably stocked up on toilet rolls for the next few months! I'm reminded of one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time: Dark Star, where the crew are distraught when the whole supply of toilet roll gets ejected into space . . .
Marmaris, I think you will find that only chartered flights come in and out of Telfer from Perth.

I would imagine with it being chartered (by Newcrest, MacMahon, etc) there will be strict checks on any personnel flying out to Telfer from Perth.

The supply chain starts in Perth I presume. The workers live there the families live there. The basic supplies come from there. Eventually it will stop. I have worked in WA during cyclone season in the North. They can shut all operations down in 2 days. What is the difference?
Whilst I agree there will be problems with these operations, wouldn't it take quite a big logistical problem to knock all the rigs offline at once? Obviously any problem would be exacerbated by COVID19 but I would imagine supplies to these areas would be considered critical and covered by key workers.
I have drilled oil wells all over the world. I ended up a well control expert in HP. HT wells before I retired. I have seen most logistic problems. I am not having a go as I have been in GGP for 10 years believe it or not! Dont care. The logistics will go tits up somewhere along the line.
On a land rig lIke this I do not know. You need mechanics and electricians on top of the drill crew. Then you need t be fed and the beds changed. It is not that simple. Then you need supplies coming in from Where. Logistacally is not easy as you lot think as you have never worked in remote locations like 500 miles offshore. If Quantas shut down flights. What then? They do not have private planes and who checks them in? Some of you people need a reallity check. I know this is one of the best companies going but eventually something in the supply chain will shut down. Be patient and wait for gold. It will not be as soon as you think.
Strange 25 depth on L2
Still showing -2.26% SP 4.325
Google search ggp share = the graph shows up 0.79% SP 4.46
Very excited for the next update. Love this story and being on the journey. This will absolutely rocket in the current climate as investors will have their eyes all over gold!
Paddy I worked 12 hour shifts In Algeria and Indonesia , sometimes in 50 deg C and in other times 40 deg C with 95% humidity .. I don’t reckon Western Australia is any worse !
@Lenz - that would be fine if you were working offshore in the North Sea but I'm not sure I'd like to do a 12 hour stint in the 40 degree heat of the Australian desert. I guess they might have been doing shifts for so many days and then back to Telfer for R & R.
I suppose in theory the Havieron camp could now even self isolate further and be independent of Telfer if they had enough volunteers to work on a rotation basis from the Havieron camp. They would only need transport to bring in supplies and take out drill-cores, not sure I'd like to spend months out there but I guess it's possible.
@markjp - I guess there will be hold-ups in the labs but that might be mitigated by the fact that not so many exploration projects will keep running taking a little of the pressure off.
ATB - Paddy
I work in the construction industry in the U.K. and we are still working on sites in areas far more populated than Havieron’s location. I imagine the messing and accomodation areas have been segregated. Anyway as Maximus10 says it’s not the end of the world if there is a brief shutdown and I think it was Chartbuster who alluded to the idea that there was a backlog at the labs anyway so news on the results front is still going to keep flowing for some time. GLA.
Paddy to reduce operating costs, I would imagine as they are so remote they would be working 12 hr shifts, as is normal on offshore working.
Paddy old mate
you are correct as always....its a 90 man + camp
not long till next drill update...gunna be huge
cheers
