samolly2-the same happens in all areas of the market place. The MM's have control....learnt so much recently about market manipulation...all in it to make money. All you have to do is decide short or longterm...
I should have said that was for shocker in relation to GHIF
Surely they are in it to make money ? ? if they dont make money how can they continue to invest in their global health projects ???
because 100k a company is not going to go far.
and there core investment is in 11 companies world wide of which one is GDR
where did they say that shocker?
BigAl, They dont care if they make money or not on this... I dont get how you cant take that on board. GHIF have already said that they have invested 10 million into a few 100 companies developing covid drugs. Again if you throw enough mud some may stick. To say that because GHIF have "invested" here, it must be good. Is misleading.
Hi Shocker,
I am struggling to understand your rationality ?
GHIF have invested in GDR to 'make money, so that they can use this profit to support GLOBAL HEALTH in poorer Countries, such as India and Africa etc.
Meanwhile, GHIF in converting their Bond to GDR Shares, have Confirmed their Confidence in GDR Products, that will also be to the Benefit of Poorer Countries and GLOBAL HEALTH in GLOBAL COUNTRIES.
BigAL, thanks for the copy and paste. Now tell me what I cant be serious about? The fact I said they are not in it to make money? You should probably do some more reading buddy
Hi Shocker,
Come on - 'You can't be serious' ?
GHIF = GLOBAL HEALTH INVESTMENT FUND - They INVEST money to support GLOBAL HEALTH:
GHIF have invested in GDR:
The Global Health Investment Fund (GHIF) is a $108 million social impact investment fund designed to provide financing to advance the development of drugs, vaccines, diagnostics and other interventions against diseases that disproportionately burden low- and middle-income countries. GHIF supports late-stage innovations for public health challenges such as malaria, pre-eclampsia, cholera, HIV and river blindness, with an emphasis on infectious diseases and maternal/infant health issues that cause significant morbidity and mortality in resource-limited settings. GHIF may also make investments that improve or expand access to existing products—such as developing pediatric formulations of approved therapeutics or improving the stability of widely-used global health vaccines.
As an investment fund with a limited time-horizon, GHIF seeks opportunities that have a high probability of successful commercialization within two or three years. Products with “dual market” potential are of greatest interest; i.e., those that will have a clear impact on public health in developing countries but also have value in high-income countries. High-volume / low-margin products, such as essential vaccines, are also of significant interest.
GHIF employs a range of investment structures including mezzanine debt, convertible debt, preferred equity and project financing with an average investment target of approximately $10 million per project. Each GHIF project must advance the Fund’s social impact objectives and demonstrate the ability to achieve commercial success.
I'm p issed off because they haven't told us where these orders were placed.
If in a target of India or America this RNS is entirely different.
Perhaps they can not say due to approval status but it is frustrating.
@Posh, we'd all like to see orders, we are probably all here on this BB under water, and more so every day, and very very tired of watching what's left of our capital go nowhere whilst wishing we'd never been here and put it in Tesla instead. Flood gates though? Orders yes, not flood gates. The big markets we expect, and are testing GDR now, have stocks in place from many other testing suppliers, at whatever cost. They may well switch to GDR as it's better, but they have stocks in place, or confirmed purchases from others that they will need to honour. I think the substance behind what I am saying is that the indicative orders are around £1m, and not e.g. £10m.
Having GHIF on board is a positive thing for sure but I do draw the line at where people start to talk about how 'Bill Gates is invested in GDR'.
I think there is decent odds that he hasn't even heard of GDR.
I couldnt tell you how they operate, though I have read up on GHIF a lot and think its very naive to think they care about GDR. After all, they are not there to make money.
I really dont understand people trying to justify that this is in fact good news? It really is unbelievable that if you told some people on here GDR was a pyramid scheme, they would come back with... It the bloody best pyramid scheme going so get in while you can.
ST: "We are expecting an update on the NHS on Monday." What? No way. Our friend Tom has asked some labs to take a look by putting it on their list of available items from Monday. I think your extrapolation is way out.
Yeah to be fair Samolly, it looks like they have been moving the NHS related stuff as much as they could. The discussions on the board have been regarding very recent updates made on DB's submission, so to expect anything to have made it into the RNS this morning was unrealistic.
Hi Shocker,
So why did GHIF convert their Bond to GDR shares ??
Why not take the cash and give it away ? rather than buy convert to Shares ??
Pretty much EVERY COVID company? That is a very bold statement.
Posh79, The big player Bill Gates has given millions upon millions to pretty much every company that can help fight the war on Covid. He could not care less if he didnt see a penny of it back. Its just a case of, if you through enough mud, some may stick.
Now that we have the news here’s my view! Indicative orders of £1million for something that hasn’t had regulatory approval yet is actually pretty good. It’s only been around 6 weeks since the tests went out. The labs have to trial these and then asses how to move forward from their current set up using the existing (less accurate) tests. It’s not something that happens over night. Things happened very quickly at the start of the pandemic as there was simply no other option. Now that existing tests are already in place ofcourse it will take a bit longer to introduce something new and unique. Once the labs get a handle on this they we will the advantages. People will be cautious with orders until that approval is though. Then expect the flood gates to open. Remember the places they are targeting....US, India and Africa......ie massive market places. They are aiming for volume. Also nice to see the Divoc partnership officially confirmed for the first time. Remember the big players involved here (bill gates). It’s taking a bit longer to get the approval over the lines but when they are there we will see something special.
