Good to see some activity here - well at least as far as the SP is concerned!
Thanks Boom, May's not long to wait for an update. Seems FReN should get a good premium on any sale, with the latest changes in payouts ...lets hope there are a few interested party's who are willing to compete on price...thanks again. VAS
Just found your bottle:) The short answer is that I have no idea - have looked hard for articles with any sort of informed opinion and come up with very little. AUM of £745m at last financial Y/E, predicted (largely thanks to Odgen rate change) to grow to over £1 billion next year and importantly 99% client retention for the last 8 years. Given their expertise in the structured settlements field, it's hard to imagine that there wouldn't be significant interest in the Company. Worth having a quick scan of the 8.3 forms - BOD hold over 21% of shares and some interesting names amongst the other holders. No doubt all will be looking for a handsome return. I believe the schedule is that they will invite formal proposals during May so hopefully we should find out more in the not too distant future.
HI All I realise this is a bit like a messag in a bottle as far as the amount of time before i getll a reply but do any of the regulars here have any idea as regarding a realistic conservative price for a sale.....I've been watching this share this past few months and must have nodded off ....GL to you both lol
Hopefully your right although I can't understand the company being up for sale in the first place with such big guns in finance running it, Why the need for a strategic partner?. I was really just making an observation especially in the second example I gave that one trade and I point out was the only single trade in a day a couple of weeks back of £370 wiped off over million pound 2% off the value of frenkle topping seems ludicrous the level of shares bought or sold in this company ever Day should surely have little effect on the share price or value of the company.
Mr Paul, fear not mainly a case of Bed and ISA with the start of the new financial year....that £24K was my wife and I using up our cap gains allowance. These FEN shares are tightly held. With the company up for sale and highly anticipated increase in revenues due to compensation levels rising by 80%....IMO this will be absorbed into another company for a lot more than the price above. Pontil
Does any one owning frenkle topping have a interest in the somewhat strange share price movements? As no one seems to ever comment. Two sales of around 24 thousand pounds have wiped millions off the value of this company today, how could this be I hear you ask? Almost two weeks ago there was one trade in a single day, a share trade of £370 that wipped over a million pound off the value, shared down that day over 2%. Does anyone have any insight why there are such huge swings in the value of the company when such little money has changed hands?
"As part of the Board's strategic review of how to maximise the Group's potential to capture fully the substantial market opportunity and to enhance shareholder value, a formal sale process is being commenced, in accordance with Note 2 on Rule 2.6 of The City Code on Takeovers and Mergers (the "Code")" http://www.investegate.co.uk/frenkel-topping-grp/fen/strategic-review-and-formal-sale-process/201704030700092727B/?fe=1&utm_source=FE%20Investegate%20Alerts&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=Announcement%20Alert%20Mail&utm_campaign=Frenkel Topping Grp%20Alert
Full year results tomorrow
Good golly just noticed the share price on gf go from 2.5% +to -1% - just because someone sold £10 grand, well whoopy do!. Imagine if anyone spent a £100 grand on shares there'd probably go to 80/90p lol. Come on market makers stop tacking the _isssss how can you encourage any trading in this share when the difference between buying and selling is between 6/8%. It's an absolute disgrace! Four trades all day absolute crap.
FEN tipped in Mail on Sunday with well written article and summary of the future direction of the Company. A revenue generating, profit making, dividend paying AIM listed company - you don't get many of those to the pound! http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/investing/article-4283124/Compensation-shake-boost-accident-victims-adviser.html
Good to see the Company spelling out the impact of the Ogden rate reduction. AUM organic growth assumptions for 2017 increased to £100m, rising to £180m in 2018. Significant uplift in average case size. More claimants likely to choose lump sum over PPO uplift in profitability and AUM "Jason Granite, Executive Chairman said "The changes announced will dramatically increase damages paid to our future clients and as a result, accelerate growth of AUM at Frenkel Topping. The Board is excited at the additional growth prospects this represents." Good stuff! http://www.investegate.co.uk/frenkel-topping-grp/fen/review-of-ogden-discount-rate/201703021430033824Y/?fe=1&utm_source=FE%20Investegate%20Alerts&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=Announcement%20Alert%20Mail&utm_campaign=Frenkel Topping Grp%20Alert
Yep "Worth watching now is Frenkel Topping, a provider of independent financial advice to personal injury and clinical negligence victims. "[The change in discount rate] will also make lump sum awards more attractive to claimants over periodic payments and will also make Frenkel Topping's low risk investment offering more attractive," argues broker finnCap. "Frenkel Topping's earnings are highly sensitive to accelerating inflows. We expect the shares to reach our 70p price target in the short term."
A big increase in the new business flow for FEN at no cost.
Good to see some upward movement in the SP here. No doubt in reaction to the reduction in the Ogden rate announced today.
update:- AUM across the Company had grown to £745m total dividend for 2016 of 1.1094 pence per share (2015: 0.8875) a 25% increase from the prior year. the Board reconfirms the forecast for 2017 of c. £8.5m of Revenue and c. £3.4m of Operating Profit. http://www.investegate.co.uk/frenkel-topping-grp--fen-/rns/trading-update-and-notice-of-results/201701260700091430V/
Sorry to take so long to reply. In short, I took the money and did so in many year end. Luckily I got back into some BUT left FEN alone. I'm starting to look at it again so back to view this thread which hasn't moved...says a lot I guess Any strong opinion?
captbonio, Have just read your post from 28th Nov - as you can see, the Frenkel Topping board is one of the quieter ones on this site! Have you reached your decision yet or are you still deliberating?
up 14% on this stock and (sadly) its probably one of the best performers in my portfolio. I'm considering doing some clearing out and cant decide on FEN. I like the story but has it got anything left in the tank ? Would be interested to hear any (moderately) unbiased views if there is anyone watching ?
Pontil - glad you're still here. Yes interesting to see the movement - 48p to around 62p in just over a week. Let's hope it continues!! All good things and all that............
Still here...Chairman buying up shares. :-) Pontil
Presenting at ShareSoc seminar next week http://www.sharesoc.org/altrinchamseminar.html
that a fair valuation would be at least 1% of AUM plus cash so a market cap about double current level would still be conservative? Not a holder but thinking about buying in. Any thoughts much appreciated. AP.
Interims - let's hope he's right "the Company remains on track to double 2015's operating profitability by 2017" http://www.investegate.co.uk/frenkel-topping-grp--fen-/rns/half-year-report/201607110700067248D/
