Good luck #1. I expect to buy back in a few months when things are more stable...

the reviews are understandable as a lot people have experienced bugs, server issues etc. It would appear things are now more stable and so i expect the reviews will soon improve. It is also worth mentioning that despite the issues you have seen record engagement for the game since the release, reaching 29k users (nearly 50% higher than the previous peak) on Steam, and so from a financial perspective, i would still expect them to deliver results ahead of market expectations. I do agree that sentiment for the shares could remain lacklustre until the issues are fully fixed and we get an update from the company in early June.
Some patches and hotfixes incoming but a lot of damage is done and positive Steam ratings are at 31%. I sold up the remainder of my ISA shares this morning. I'm sure things will recover but I see sideways movements or drops for a while.
agreed...they did release a patch last night to solve some of the issues. One thing for sure is they will get it right and this update will take the game to the next level. You also have to remember we are less than 48 hrs and games often launch with bugs/glitches etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxmIlTwnhXQ worth a listen from 27 mins to 40 mins...David Braben speaks about the game.
No doubt about it, there are definitely a lot of problems to address with this release - many are saying it's like a Beta version and positive comments are low at the moment.
I hope that FDEV can address these quickly but they have got a challenging period of negative feedback ahead and need to get back on track before the Autumn console releases.
I'm confident in the long-term but have top-sliced profits for now while things settle down.
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=topsellers good to see so many of FDEV's game in the top 50 in the charts.
Now #1 in the Steam charts: https://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=topsellers
However, there have been some server problems,. It's often the case with major releases of popular games but fingers crossed that these can be fixed in the next 12 hours.
Early reviews are mixed: some find it awesome while negative reviews are mostly focused on performance issues on their current PCs. Expect to see more split comments like this.
Those with more high-spec kit should get the most of it. Top reviewer and ED expert, Obsidian Ant, has given a positive update on the new tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMov_y93tyQ
The Odyssey trailer now has 100k views in 36 hours and is 98% positive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAb3nH5Eilo
Fdev has been pretty good investment so far. These periodic drop in sp are great - can't wait to play the expansion. D Braben runs a tight ship.
The only problem, as far as I'm concerned, is I need to upgrade my PC . And quickly. :)
"It's been a long time coming", lol. Very long. Can't wait to get into it.
07 :)
Good knowledge #1. Re Frontier Foundry games, Lemnis Gate definitely looks intriguing with its Edge of Tomorrow Live Die Repeat vibe but Struggling is a very strange choice.
Very good indepth article on ED...

not sure why it has been duplicated. It will be interesting to see the peak number of concurrent players on Steam over the next 3/4 days. Also, have to remember that because this is a paid DLC and cumulative sales for Elite Dangerous are >$50m on Steam, the gross margin will be higher as the platform distribution fee falls from 30% to 20%. For FY22, we have F1 2022, a major IP title unannounced, and 3 releases from Frontier Foundry label....lots of potential positive catalysts for the shares. We will get a trading update in early June...fingers crossed!
Good stuff , your username is very appropriate here :-)
I can also see a 2nd Odyssey entry in the top 10. Can you spot the difference?
Selling well... https://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=topsellers
2nd in the charts, expect it to reach number 1 position by this evening!
It looks incredible! I topped up this morning and happy with that decision - sales should be enormous!
A lot of excitement in the comments on the new trailer...

Coverage is building...
"Odyssey is a long-waited expansion for Frontier's space sim. It allows players to touch down on newly accessible planets with new atmospheres, explore, engage in combat and trade, take on missions, work together or alone over their surfaces with complete freedom from a first-person, feet-on-the-ground perspective."

"The promise of freely exploring any planet in the Milky Way, lovingly rendered in lifelike detail, is sure to be a tantalizing one for many players. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign eight years ago, Elite Dangerous has had years to build up a loyal fanbase some 12 million players strong. With the release of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey on May 19th, those fans will finally get the chance to take their first steps into the galaxy around them."

It's been a long time coming but the 'Spacelegs' version of ED is fully released on PC and Steam on May 19th. This is huge and I expect the shares to rise 10-15% this month.
Servers are scheduled to be out for 11 hours tomorrow so hope all goes to plan for the approx 7pm release.
"A phase of alpha testing has seen Odyssey fleshed out with new features and content that will make it into the final product.
Speaking about the console release, a message from Frontier Development explains: “After continued feedback, iterations and balancing, we are targeting our release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the autumn of this year.
