Time for some paid LIVE streaming events now, proof of concept is done and dusted, no more freebies.
Good grief! I hope it's a great many more than 600. That'd more or less cover the discography of just the Rolling Stones. How many sets of fixed cameras are there? How many performances a week are happening in front of them? I'd have thought that number could be achieved in just a few weeks, not as a total of the past three years. They were recording well before the app launch in April 2018, weren't they?
I think the O2 tie-up is just a marketing exercise and another proof of concept - I haven't investigated it fully as I'm not likely to join their network, but I believe there is plenty of "free stuff" for users where eventually everyone will be expected to pay.
I imagine that the feedback they get from mobile users will be invaluable.
As a result of these GMA adventures, more than once has the desire been expressed for a commentator / compere for live shows and I imagine that won't go unnoticed. There is so much to learn and there's so many "consequences" intended or otherwise to deal with. It's way beyond my comprehension, but I'm not being paid to understand it. I have sufficient faith in the BoD to deliver accordingly.
You're dead right about the timing though - too soon and it could backfire, too late and miss the boat. However, the BoD team will have the knowledge and experience from elsewhere on how to judge this, so in my book it's another plus point in the company's fundamentals. For an emerging technology, I don't think the BoD have done too badly, though it could yet go wrong. However, once the hurdles have been successfully jumped..?
The way the SP is being manipulated seems common to many AIM shares, so that doesn't worry me either. At this price, it's a steal.
Pete,
Fair comments but didn't Melody say they have a back catalgue of over 600 recordings? And if they don't think they are ready yet to go full on commercial why the tie up with O2? Aren't they risking putting off all those that subscribe to the VR deal and in turn potentially putting O2 off-side? Surely it is time to throw a lot more of these 600 recordings into the ring?
Short-term, it'll all be about proof of concept, testing the tech and measuring the responses. Nothing major will happen until there is a healthy back-catalogue of recordings. All the while that some people moan about the company going no-where, they are actually investing in a future where every new recording has a value much greater than the production costs. With only meagre storage costs the return on these recordings will last in perpetuity not just as music / performance recordings but as an archive of social history as well. So, there's very little waste.
The company will never be another Spotify, but in offering quality recordings it'll have no equal. All the while that the SP is below 10p, I just say fill your boots and enjoy the anticipation as you hide them away! Just remember that it's not a get-rich-quick scheme.
looking at the buys and sells today the sp is being massively manipulated for god knows what reason. it is currently down 0.5% when at the very least it should be showing minimum 10% increase even if that were to drop slowly over the next few days!
Shrewd comment. I just wish they'd stop telling us 'coming soon'. I dont mind waiting but I'd rather not get my short term hopes up.
@ShareDuke...
The one thing that MVR don't have is a big enough back-catalogue. While this is building in the background all the while, it isn't yet big enough to sustain demand and going too far, too soon could be the breaking of the company. VR isn't like 2D where you can use/remaster recordings made yonks ago. So, it is a game of patience, testing the tech and exploring the possibilities. If a live show is put on by the likes of Adele or Abba, what's the immediate demand afterwards going to be? If you disappoint your new "believers" at that point, because of a non-existent list of options, the negative impact could be catastrophic!
I'm as excited as anyone about this company and its ambitions, but would caution about getting too carried away before the core library can sustain the potential demand. It could still be a year or two, hence the SP not yet beginning to soar. With the current BoD in place, I believe it will, just not yet...
ABBA would be my choice
They Would suit All age groups and countries with in reason
They must have someone lined up !for Xmas
So families can test their new viewer after Christmas dinner lol
Ed Sheeran for Xmas will do nicely :)

Working very well for me this time around too. Nice staging, better fluidity with the app experience and no complaints. Wish people would stop talking about predicted buyouts every 5 minutes though. They just need to focus on the here and now to build organisational capability for themselves!
Great to hear these positive comments, haven't seen it but happy to read from the better quality contributors on here their view. For anyone who did not hear, even Disney had issues yesterday launching Disney plus streaming. They blamed it on heavy traffic and the market accepted it. This is very positive. My thoughts more recently is that this gets snapped up by one of the big techs who are in this streaming market. All tech issues will be resolved and it will be about the content that MVR can provide. Very frustrating share price, lets hope we see it tick up now. GLA
"International brand"
Excellent! If the tech is proven up then no reason not to expect a blockbuster performance announced for Christmas
To me we have
a) (International) Proof of Concept (by which I mean technical live streaming POC)
b) Great technical experience , tech and management team
c) A decent and (one hopes through these tie ups) expanding International being developed and pushed by an experienced marketing team ( Marketing)
d) Great Music industry relationships (Content)
e) Great broadcasting \ reach relationships , think GMA \ O2 (the start of wider Distribution , agree US mobile network look like a good next play )
There's some polishing of the concept to be done around the edges for sure but with all the above in place , the final piece of stage 1 monetisation (ticket sales for live gigs) cannot be far off and when that lands , boom . Advertising and partnerships will evolve from these , bells and whistles Social Media interaction will enhance the product but not essential for this stage 1 monetisation imo .
Lets give the team some credit for once instead of the knocking the usual culprits are happy to dish out on a daily basis . Tell your friends , tell the world
All is going very well
...is all still going well with the broadcast?
quality is very good. Looks like they learned from the Marshmello gig, it's working perfectly fine for me.
Anyone notice the Walmart sponsor?
excellent report s/d thank you.
Not even on wifi but 3G and straight in , perfect 360 streaming and virtually no lag whatsoever on Jump spots , amazing MVR , you've cracked it ! and being with \ hearing the backstage preps is quite fascinating (you wonder if they know they are still "live" ?!) . Only suggestion is we could benefit from a streaming "compere" to explain whats coming next during changeovers , who is getting ready for what etc
