nothing much happening with trading today so im guessing nothing showing up tomorrow...people always get the nod in advance
They went through on Aquis antharry. I think the press day is tomorrow though Twitter just says 'next week'. There would have to be an RNS in the morning if funding news but I think now that this will just be an exchange of information with the media on the basis they can't sit on the news and wait to reveal all gloriously when it suits them. Unless of course final signatures went down yesterday or today in which case tomorrow morning would be a reasonable amount of time to update the market.
Search EUZ and click on EUZ GB PL they are shown on there as a sell.
I wouldn't have thought we'd have our own smelter, I think the plan was to use the Glencore smelter on the north coast which isn't far but it would be amazing if the Junta are serious about building a state of the art smelter in the local region. Just a bit more on this theme of integrated ESG investment I see that Cementos Cosmos have done a deal with EDF to build a solar plant in Toral. We already have some synergy with Cosmos as they might be interested in our waste limestone and having a cement plant on our doorstep when it comes to construction would be handy, think of the savings on delivery charges if LR & MC get down there with their wheelbarrows!
I think the quote came from one of the El Bierzo articles. From memory one was a bit ambiguous because the translation was about 'transforming' the metals in the region which could mean the manufacturing phase post smelter but I remember another was clearer talking about a green smelter. Try searching for "horno de fundición". I think this conversation about keeping the metals in the region is one of the reasons for tomorrow's event as apparently there has been some misunderstanding about the processing of the metals, with an official fearing that if they are processed elsewhere then the wealth leaves the region. I think that one was in the Diario de León.
Mm's that's partly why I disagree with that Mining.com article that said zinc has no obvious exposure to the electrification metals boom. Incidentally zinc has gone through $US3000.00/t

Exactly Bricks, this bigger picture integrated approach is certainly starting to emerge as the likely path forward. It would also fit with the Mayor's comments about a in-region new green smelter which at first sounded a bit fanciful to me but now if they're serious about top to bottom ESG investment it really could be part of the plan, we're not the only mine locally.

The International Zinc Association Launches the Zinc Battery Initiative
Safe, reliable and sustainable, zinc is ready to transform energy storage
February 25, 2021 05:33 PM Eastern Standard Time
DURHAM, North Carolina--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The International Zinc Association (IZA) is pleased to announce the launch of its most recent program, the Zinc Battery Initiative.
Recent extreme weather events, amplified by climate change, have refocused attention on the future role of fossil fuels, and on the capacity and resilience of energy networks around the world.
One of the most impactful ways to address this is through cost-effective energy storage. As renewables become a growing part of the electricity grid, energy storage can help address the intermittency of solar and wind energy. It can also help respond to large fluctuations in demand by capturing and storing excess energy during low demand and putting it online during peak hours. Energy storage also helps provide resilience by serving as a backup energy supply when generation is interrupted. It will also play a fundamental role in the electrification of transport and in other applications where energy is needed, but connections to the network are not practical.
Addressing climate change and creating energy networks resistant to extreme weather will require a variety of technologies. Zinc batteries have a lot to contribute. They are versatile, offer flexible designs with wide operating temperatures, high power discharge and are capable of providing long-lasting storage. Zinc has strong supply chains in major regions, with production in North America, South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Zinc batteries also have an excellent safety record, making them an ideal option where physical safety is essential.
"The advance of zinc battery technologies, which results in safe, sustainable and low-cost options for key applications, represents a disruptive innovation with significant impacts on these markets in the future," said Andrew Green, executive director of the International Zinc Association. "We are excited about creating a partnership between our zinc producing members and the leading companies in the zinc battery sector to help promote the development and use of these technologies."
ZBI members include some of the leading companies in the zinc battery sector, such as ZincFive, Zinc8, Salient Energy, Urban Electric Power, e-Zinc, ZAF Energy Systems and AEsir Technologies, Inc.

Also LR signing off.... #esgreporting #esginvesting #euprojects
Certainly not utter bull Mms, LR's post on Skarn Associates says it all. Whether we do a deal with Red Eléctrica or not I think the key takeaway is the emphasis on ESG and integrated supply chains which is why the applications for our products is very relevant as we plan this mine, as you say. Now if we can bring a significant copper resource back into the JORC wouldn't that just be perfect?
Thanks Money. It does make a lot of sense. Good research. So this announcement could be made as early as tomorrow which if it is....is significant news. RNS will have to be released prior to the event ....let’s see but definitely I’m leaning towards some form of government funding and this could well be it.GLA
So now we know red electrica are onboard here’s what I believe is going on Trade mentioned before about zinc and hydrogen
aleasoft .com/storage-batteries-hydrogen-essential-energy-transition-process/
Last part of article
However, the batteries will not represent the fundamental source of storage in the medium or long term, this role will be played by hydrogen. The combination of batteries and hydrogen will be a key source of energy production without polluting emissions in the hours in which the renewable energy production is insufficient.

You therefore get zinc air batteries. Boom... back to the other day what’s a wind farm got to do with zinc there’s your answer that’s why energy companies to partner with zinc mining. GLTA I could be talking utter bull but I think the cat has been let out the bag Red Electrica to sign a deal with EUZ?? Each this space very closely significant value to shareholders
More interesting look at their stats
Red Eléctrica de España is a partly state-owned and public limited Spanish corporation which operates the national electricity grid in Spain, where it operates the national ...
Revenue: €1.397 billion (2010)
Total assets: €8.284 billion (end 2010)
ISIN: ES0173093115
Their SP is €16.02 aswell :)
So is this our significant backer?
Red Electrica on Castilla y Leon sustaining its position nationally as the leading renewable power generator/provider, where our Toral Zn, Pb & Ag high grade project is currently conducting PFS work
Interestingly google Red Electrica
Red Eléctrica de España is a partly state-owned and public limited Spanish corporation which operates the national electricity grid in Spain, where it operates the national power transmission system. It also holds assets in Portugal, Peru and Bolivia.
Government backing as partially state owned?
Someone mentioned about me posting about wind farms not being for EUZ
Big hint from LR here on linked in
@Skarnassoc
Following Skarn Associates excellent, in depth, ESG research on Zinc vertical last week the key highlight was; the Importance of controlling emissions throughout the integrated supply chain now being crucial. Europa Metals is undertaking a lot of work around our ESG credentials at present and I thought Id share some of the data released by the Spanish grid, para-statal, Red Electrica on Castilla y Leon sustaining its position nationally as the leading renewable power generator/provider, where our Toral Zn, Pb & Ag high grade project is currently conducting PFS work.
'This region is the one with the highest installed power capacity regarding renewables and wind, both in terms of MW and in terms of share of the total. of the 25,424 GWh produced in Castilla y León during this year, 87% came from energy sources that are natural and inexhaustible such as wind, water or sun, with wind, with a contribution of 49.5% to the total generation mix, being the leading technology in the region. Coal was the technology that contributed the least to the generation mix..
Hi Sammybow, 2023/24 sounds right to me too, maybe 2024/25.
The August 2020 study presented:
US$156m NPV at an 8% discount rate
31.3% IRR
17Mt @ 6.7% ZnEq (including Pb credits) resource (JORC 2012) including indicated resource of 3.8Mt @ 8.1% ZnEq (including Pb and Ag credits) - 4% cut off
700k tonnes per annum operation with a 7.6% ZnEq mined grade
US$79m upfront Capex and payback in Year 4
3-year trailing average metals prices of US$2,668/t for zinc, US$2,099/t for lead and US$16.5/oz for silver
US$963m Revenue over Life of Mine (“LOM”)
US$477m Opex over LOM
49% Operating Margin (US$63.56/t all-in cost)
With some limited tweaking, this project looks viable.
If some of the inferred resource can be moved into the indicated category that would be a big positive. Additionally, if the payback period can reduced by a further 6 to 12 months that would make the banks / investors very happy. The Final piece in the jigsaw is extending the life of the mine and resource (which is open at depth) - this may come later on though once the mine is in operation etc.
The PFS and then full feasibility study could take 18 months to 2 years to complete and Mining could commence in 2023/24.
Current Mcap looks extremely low.
My short term target SP is 50p and medium term £1+
All in my own opinion. GLA
