I totally support your views indepthwins and I agree that Regal Cinemas are the creme of the creme of Cineworld cinema brands portfolio. Did you read recent event that took place in New Jersey in regards to Regal Cinemas and others!
Groups including the National Association of Theatre Owners were listed on the complaint against
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and Judith Persichilli.
AMC, Cinemark and Regal are among a group that filed a complaint Monday night arguing it is unconstitutional
to keep movie theaters in New Jersey closed when similar spaces, such as places of worship, have reopened.
The plaintiffs are asking the court to force New Jersey to stop treating movie theaters differently from similar
businesses and acknowledge the order deprived movie theaters of just compensation.

Goodwill a red herring? Read this 9th July 2020 cncb article on Wirecard 'Goodwill' now for sale.
htxxs://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/09/why-some-investors-are-holding-onto-wirecard-shares-even-after-insolvency.html
A German companies balance sheet expert explains how you extract the true value of a companies goodwill.
In the published article of 9th July 2020, they're referring to the ongoing insolvency process of selling Wirecard assetts incuding its 'Goodwill' and how much you can expect to get for in notwithstanding that Wirecard was in effect a fraudelent entity from the beginning with connections to the Russian Spy underworld and other murcky business characters. Cineworld has declared over £7 billions of intangible assetts goodwill valuation for 2019 year which I believe is an expected amount that they can claim in respect to their genuine business operations that thy've carried out over many years.

Indepth didn't the regal acquision happen in 2018? Surely this money would not still be being shown in retained earnings for year ending Dec 19 if it had been spent? I was under the impression when companies are loss making they often use retained earnings as a short term (not ideal) measure to keep things going.
Thanks @indepthwins
From reading the financial liabilities numbers of Cineworld as published on the Barrons website,
I can only see that they had total liabilities of £7,363,503 [£.billions] under the Liabilities & Shareholders' Equity
of the published balance sheet. It also says that they had at the end of 2019 total assests of £9,581,053 [£.billions]
htxxs://www.barrons.com/quote/stock/uk/xlon/cine/financials I cannot make any clearer for you as tha's all I have for you.
The 541 million interest would include the operating leases that are part of the larger debt figure you are giving.
They have 2.6 billion in retained earnings, the interest payment in 2019 was 541 million, so it would seem to they can meet it for a while even if they were to make small losses, which seems unlikely as they are consistently profitable.
Please all Cineworld share holders take a read of this easy to understand Cineworld financial as was from 2015-to-2019 from the highly respected financial website publisher Barrons. It shows all the major, minor and direct holders of the Cineworld shares. Also please note that the Cineworld shares have a short interest in place of [+6.63% which is about 89millions shares] been shorted by at least eight hedge fund managers companies.
