OK. Thanks, see you later. Good Luck.
Cineworld was my worst performing stock. It's part of my portfolio re-balancing; selling off all UK stocks apart from Astrazeneca. Everyone gets a few stocks wrong, but luckily my investment in US tech has made alot of profit.
Can't believe your're not following his advice Zoro, everyone knows buy high sell low is the best way forward
I've been invested in US tech since the pandemic began :)
Luckily I only have a small position on CINE and I can afford to sell. Unlike you who's ploughed everything into it and will soon lose his home !
I'm selling off my cineworld shares tomorrow. Will buy once it hits 20p
this is the only comment above you, i'm sure you're lovel
Told you all it would keep dropping.
There are 140 posts above slating me about how its going to rise...and yet it drops.
Use your brain, sell up & shove it in US tech where the real profits are.
Fri afteroon isn't the best time for this share so it could happen but then it would be eyed up over the weekend by traders who would note it was over £1 a month ago.
sub 50p coming tomorrow once the friday afternoon dump takes place
@kelbelle
Yeah I know it’s my money however I just haven’t had any experience in this field and wanted to gather a few tips from different people before I decide on what I want to do, I appreciate what you’re saying though!
I wasn't trying to catch you out or anything, was honestly just curious.
'Quick Covid Unlock Down'... I like that, can I use that?
I gathered that.
Jayquethedog did you buy back in or holding out for more?
The movie "the big short" is about a guy who shorts the housing market before the 2008 collapse...he bet it would collapse so he made millions. It was very high risk though, he had to make margin payments for a long while as it kept increasing before it finally did actually collapse.
I believe I read he tried to short SMT or Tesla around 6 months ago, but obv it didn't work out that time and he ended up paying a lot and cancelling it.
I didn't explain that very well.
Ignore me. I'm tired.
Shorters....(my fingers were too quick)
*as a ratio (of money put up as a fee)
Usually you pay a fee and borrow more shares than you have paid for with an agreement to say you'll pay all the money back.
You then sell the borrowed shares and keep the difference. Paying back what you owe.
You can quickly end up with big losses as if it doesn't go your way you multiply your loss as it's still based on the original borrowed amount. (ratio applied).
Only you can decide how much profit you want, if it goes up and you think it's just a spike in the sp then you can sell in the hopes of buying in at a lower price. It's up to you to figure out if that's worth your while. But if you think it could keep going higher then it's up to you to decide if you want to sell up early and miss out on profit. This site suggests taking profits around 20 - 25% gains but to each their own. I'm planning on larger gains.

Shorters effectively bet on the price going down. They usually bet with money borrowed under a ratio.
It’s your money so it’s up to you?
I’m a new investor too and although I appreciate reading the different opinions on this board (now I’ve found the ignore option anyway haha), I certainly am not going to take financial advice from strangers on the Internet, ultimately my investments are my decision and mine alone
Can someone explain what shorters mean please lol, am I better to ride the wave in regards to my investment even when share prices go up? Or shall I pull out when they get to a high enough point?
Most vaccine trials are all having a good effect on the virus. So expect one on to the market before Xmas.
Cineworld debt is only $3.5 billion. All sorted with their lenders.
The Hollywood film industry is a $150 billion a year industry. Cannot see Trump or Biden letting that collapse. Cinemas are an integral part of that.
This SP will rise. The traders will pounce after cinemas open and the shorters will need to close their positions before then or risk losing a fortune.
@racandfz
thanks for your time to answer my earlier post. No I am not questioning what you say, I'm trying to learn and understand. I do look at the trades going through but I'm not savvy enough to understand if that has much of an effect on the trend of the price. Potentially the persistent scribes on here could be having an effect on the prices.
@Doubleheadedcoin
What a great post. Very soon this week we will have to wear face coverings and this will give the general public the sense of
confidence when going indoors whether for shopping, movies, ect. ect. Come On Cineworld you can do-it.
Citadel Advisors LLC, have reduced thier short interest position which was on at 6-July-2020 [0.73%] to Today at [0.63%]
I really pray that shorters gets squeezed.
Statement by Warner Bros....
"Warner Bros. is committed to bringing Tenet to audiences in theaters, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it’s time. In this moment what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film in their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy."
