@x66rjp - I don't think the Cineworld booking software automatically social distances bookings at the moment. I think it's currently the responsibility of the person booking to make sure they're not too close to another party.
@investroid - I stand corrected. I didn't know about the companion seats. My take on it is that it is not a bad attendance given it is for an old classic on a Monday evening. It shows that people aren't all hiding at home and I would say it offers some promise for the sort of attendance levels you might get for a blockbuster such as Tenet. This is of course all totally my opinion though. We'll see what happens when Tenet arrives in a few weeks.
Interstellar Imax 2D Sheffield at 19:20, 66 booked and growing....
I will be holding for trebling my money.
@SumOverHistories
Just took a quick look. Don't count the companion seats to the disabled chairs. They aren't booked.
The true number is 41 out of 450 seats booked. Less than 10% booked.
Take from that what you will. It is after all a Monday, it is a more expensive IMAX screen, and it is a movie that probably the entire planet has already seen. Nonetheless, 10% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
How do you know they're bookings and not blocked for social distancing? Probably a stupid question but funny how two of you have said 46 seats booked - could be coincidental I guess.
Interstellar showing on IMAX at Leeds White Rose Centre Cineworld @ 19:20 this evening. 46 seats booked so far. Not bad for an old movie being rerun.
The Harry Potters aren't doing too bad, atleast in my nearest cineworld in Ely has 46 seats sold for the 7pm showing of the first film tonight.
