Sukari Summary.
Main commodities AU.
Silver 1 ppm.
Means mostly gold miniscule amount of silver.
Hi,Rgm,
You are indeed right, although in the past they didn't go out of there way looking for silver and other precious metals they were present all over Sukari varying quantities dependant on the area, silver was also a by product from the tailings, or so I was informed.
I will look back, although I seem it remember I got the information verbally, possibly Dasut may have some idea on this as he has considerable on the ground knowledge of the workings.
It may have been in one of my dreams Sparrow, but I have a vague recollection of some silver tonnage figures about 10 years ago when the mine first started production. But you're right, there seems to be no production figures these days.
My wife a former news journalist has always said that it was far easier to get get headlines on bad news!
Hi RedSparrow,
Yes indeed you are right!
Tibbs
When I've looked at the production figures for Centamin in the past, I've noticed that no silver is ever mined. I wondered if that is because there simply isn't any silver at Sukari or the amounts there are negligible and uneconomic to extract?
I think the price of silver will be very high in the next few years and speculated whether the 'uneconomic' deposits - if there are any - would become valuable. I'm assuming the extraction process is similar to gold. Perhaps any future mines in Egypt or elsewhere may be silver rich?
What makes you think I don't know the first thing about mining?
If you believed the press/media/woke brigade u'd think the UK is the most ******, sexist, intolerant country on the planet!
A very deep and meaningful post - a thought for a lifetime not just a day.
Certainly religion and race have always been a focal point for many conflicts since time began. However, those with no beliefs and who live only for self gratification and the day are equally dangerous. Anyone with a military background or has done medical work in the field at particular times will know that.
Yes, the UK, particularly where I live, is a great place. Long may it be so.
Shares on the major European stock markets traded mostly lower in the premarket on Monday as the investors digested the news regarding Group of Seven's (G7) support for the minimum global tax proposal put forth by United States President Joe Biden.
The traders will also keep an eye on the talks between the European Union and the United Kingdom, as the two sides are to continue the negotiations on the Northern Ireland protocol's implementation during the week.
The DAX lost 0.20% at 7:55 am CET, while the FTSE 100 stood flat at the same time. At 7:54 am CET, the CAC 40 decreased by 0.19%. The euro declined 0.06% versus the dollar, selling for 1.21598 at 7:57 am CET, with the pound concurrently down by 0.15% versus the greenback, changing hands at 1.41360.
Breaking the News / BU
Appalling, absolutely appalling, there are supposed to be animal welfare facilities (water.etc) where livestock carriers layover which is supposed to happen on a regular basis .
The suffering of animals in the food (meat)industry is bad enough, but lot's of people remain ignorant of the animal suffering in the dairy industry
Please do write to your MP on this matter and ask them to follow it up with a reply to you on the outcome.
Hi Mr Gnome,
A very interesting account indeed, that lady had so little and yet she welcomed complete strangers to her home and offered them hospitality, it must have been a very humbling experience for you?
Our politicians and world leaders could learn a great deal from that lady!
A lot of people may have seen the latest set of murders of innocents in NE Burkina Faso. Its a long way from Centamins interests in BF, certainly be very difficult for the cowardly murderers to come into this ground for many reasons, not the least being is that the Lobi people who are the residents around the Centamin ground have never been conquered (not even by the French), and are not the most accomodating people when it comes to intruders. I am yet to believe these protangonists are anything more than sub-organised murderers, who have nought to do with any religious beliefs. Perhaps just a case of the poor drugged up, armed people robbing the undrugged, poor unarmed. Either way a pathetic event or set of events continuing in the northern part of the country. The northern part of BF is largely undeveloped, v little infrastructure, v little in the way of security, very few resources, being encroached on the by the mighty Sahara desert annually, underpopulated, out of sight and out of mind for decades (except for the elections when everyone gets a t-shirt). Few jobs, few prospects, education meager at best...
I spent several years in this country, the people are some of the friendliest and compassionate I have ever met.
I remember one day in the Belhourou district which was to the north west of the latest massacre site, when we came across an usual gathering of sticks, making a small pyramid, in the distance. We moved forward to look closer, We noticed some movement around the pyramid. Careful. Out came a lady, with an enormous smile, with a wooden bowl in her hands. The bowl was full of some milk from her goats. The pyramid was her house. She had 2 pieces of cloth which passed for clothes. 3 children. 2 wooden stools, 4 very used mats. Husband was away. She offered us her bowl of "milk". She had no idea who we were, what our intentions were.
The south is a different country.
The UK is not too bad a place?

65000 bull calves are slaughted every year for the milk industry. 90 % are slaughtered within 10 days. No mothers milk no water nothing and generally maltreated. One calf spent it's 9 days being transported from Scotland to Spain being delayed at the channel ports due to the festive period before finally being put out of its misery.

Hi Mr Gnome, Red Sparrow & Mr Bond!
Quality posts as always!
My solicitor tells me she expects to receive the draft lease (wet signed by the tenant) any day, and on receipt will request my presence to countersign.
It took the main cannon to be fired over their bow oner a week ago but it definitely had the desired effect.
To be honest I have a silhouette of the ball in the back of the net but no goal has been scored until I have a signed contract.
CEY to £1.50 at dawn!
Daninfestation top post very inspiring and insightful ha ha ha
Talk about Centamin. FFS !
A very nice company, run by very nice people, ha ha.
Will that do ?
It is weekend,.
Very well.
What can you tell us all about Centamin?
TALK ABOUT CENTAMIN - or go and get a room in a hotel FFS
Another prized member of my DVD collection - not a single dud episode. I love Humphrey's smug arrogance.
The sad thing is, Jim Hacker and Humphrey Appleby would be less of a danger to us all than are real politicians.
Maybe that was the actual point of the programme?
I see Tony Blair wants to separate the 'jabbed' from the 'unjabbed'. I suspect I'll end up in an internment camp on the Isle of Man someday, and no one will even know or care. I hope I can take Sir Humphrey with me.
Adieu.

MIght be line ball between Boris and Dan Andrews in Victoria! A swap maybe considered/negotiated?!
Please spare some sympathy for the poor Victorians, who have a Premier who does not know who in his government and/or adminstration made the most fateful decision, that has caused bankruptcy to visit the state and over 900 people die. Accountability=0. But then again they were probably following the script
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX45hc0aZt0
Perhaps oddly it does not seem the ultimate authoritarian premier was not in control at the time the decision was made? Not ending there, the State Govt now thinks it is the moral obligation of Australian tax payers to bail out what many think is most incompetent state government in the history of Australia (there is a lot of competition to be fair)...one has to make ends meet I guess...
https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6213235856001
The govt has finally moved to a single QR contact tracing system! some 17 months after the virus started in ernest?
"
But Victorian businesses have been allowed to use their own electronic record-keeping systems and these were not required to link to the government’s system until the end of April 2021. (??!!)
Health experts say this has created a frustrating situation in which Victorians check into venues using different systems.
The government survey showed just 41 per cent of visitors to hospitality venues reported always checking in during April, down from 54 per cent in February..." and on the circus goes...
https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/single-qr-system-to-be-rolled-out-as-check-in-compliance-plummets-20210507-p57pt5.html
election coming up for the state, and the news on the street is ...Dan Andrews will get in again, which says a lot about the democratic process in Victoria, and probably more about the state of the opposition.
They follow a different script in the southern state about government

must keep laughing, the alternative is not good!

Hi Mr Tibbles
Try to have a look at the link Goldgnome has provided today - The Nation magazine.
From there, the following article is an example of what I think you are saying about Johnson's 'chums' doing nicely out of the pandemic and Brexit. I'm not saying that only this government has been acting in a corrupt way, but it is certainly just as susceptible.
https://www.thenation.com/article/world/covid-boris-johnson-corruption/
Yes, indeed, if only they were little fiddles.
There is little fiddles and fuddles everywhere...from the NATION magazine...
"Part of our ad sale income includes what is called the display advertising marketplace. Independent companies match advertisers with unused ad space on our website through an auction-like process. When an advertiser wins the auction, their ad shows up on our site.
Google has intervened in this process, however. For some time, Google’s Ad Server has been excluding bids submitted through rival networks in order to prioritize business from its own Ad Network. Their size makes this possible and it erodes a precious source of revenue for us. So we’re suing."
