InterestK: Some would say your fox experience was a lucky omen!…buy some lottery tickets (or more BPC shares?!). Less lucky if you lived in the Rockies and a grizzly or wolf was staring (salivating) down at you spread over your flower trough.
Aim2retire: Great post. Clarification please from the oilers, with the caveat I may be using the wrong terminology. ... Based on various written and verbal presentations (eg page 11 diagram, Aug 2020) I believe there are 10 potential reservoirs the Percy-1 exploration drill will go through at the same location. Any or all 10 can have oil traps of various heights or thicknesses that spread for miles. Am I correct? Any thoughts?
The Rig ‘gig’
One of the reasons we got a good rig deal with Stena was date flexibility. Based on recent posts it will not surprise me if IceMax sets sail for spud location asap after the Christmas/new year break. It makes sense NOT to work during Christmas week in case of medical emergency, sourcing a missing or broken widget, and I assume extra staff costs. Furthermore, although December 15 was stated as the earliest start date, it was probably done to avoid BPC unilaterally proclaiming and assuming the force majeure extension as a done deal. The Bahamas Government may have seen a 2021 start date as being a bit cheeky, to say the least. Subject to an RNS update, I’m quite happy for the rig gig to happen in January, interim results middle-end of February, party time 7pm Saturday February 27 2021.
Top ten
The top ten offshore oil and gas fields in Europe can be seen here https://www.offshore-technology.com/features/top-ten-offshore-oil-and-gas-fields-in-europe/?utm_source=Army%20Technology&utm_medium=website&utm_campaign=Must%20Read&utm_content=Headline . We’ll all be delighted with eventually being in the number 2 slot. Note some of the strange names given to oil/gas fields including ‘Troll’. If Percy-1 strikes oil, we will need a name for the oil field. I don’t care what it’s called as long as it isn’t named after my ex-wife’s (I think ex-4, but can’t quite remember) stupid bulldog, ‘Captain Gumdrop’. Perhaps it should have a simple name such as ‘Billy’……. Based on the billy-ons of dollars it will generate. (Sorry, couldn’t resist)
Have a great Sunday
