just for info, I too had a flight with TC booked for a couple of weeks time, I bought on CC which I hope you did too. I bought new tickets on a different airline at 3.00am this morning and paid a premium, when I pressed the pay now button it said these prices are not longer valid and I had to pay an additional £120, not too bad considering the prices went up more than £600 later on this afternoon.
Anyway the point is - the CC company I spoke too about my refund stated that if I had bought 'like for like' replacement tickets, I could claim the extra I paid as a 'consequential loss' - worth a try theonlywayis, best of luck!
Yes I had two flights booked with Thomas Cook and had to rebook this morning at extortionate prices. Need my shares to rally!
I wonder how this ship will sail????
that boat has sailed if its liquidation, they should have asked us as the idea's below probably would have saved them. look at argos now virtually no stores as all pop ups within sainsburys
Government should not have bailed them out.
They are in the **** far too deep, (bod should all be in prison for their "management" of this co. Look at RNS stating they have enough funds to see them through winter 2019, then just a matter of weeks later, they require Fosun to bail them out to the tune of £750m, then only last week, another 250m required.) If the Gov had bailed them out this time with £200m, i would put my life savings on them coming back in a month for another handout.
I had similar thoughts on this, regarding restructuring. It can be done as long as it can service it’s debt. Seems they’ve left it too late though and have exhausted overdraft facilities in the meantime. MA has money but not that much appetite for risk I’m sure.
The govt could have helped with a bail out package with stringent conditions that they scale back their high st shops and try for deals with other failing high st giants, ie pop-up counters. This could have saved millions while then expanding online services. They could still do it as TCG will be t/o in admin. MA could try his hand and offer an olive branch with pop-ups in SPORTS DIRECT....he's shrewd and egotistic enough to try.
a shame to hear of the demise of Thomas Cook, another great bastion of UK life gone.
Hear hear
lets hope for a good positive week, without the derampers that are just gutted they were not in early on this one
Cracking post, Gromit.
You're quite right. Only two things potentially change the prospects here: the passage of time and actual notifiable news. Any opinions from others, in the absence of actual news, is just that - opinion. And the clock, if it does make any difference to anyone's investment case, doesn't need a BB to watch it.
3 attempts! And definitely not as good as the first!
I'd recommend as many as possible keep clear of this BB. There will be shady characters that will try and deramp, talk you out of your holding and try to manage their entry point.
They'll play on your emotions and will try and make that tiny voice in your head that little bit louder as if to give their arguments credibility. If you aren't hear, they'll be only talking to themselves. Don't even entertain them. Subscribe to alerts as that'll be all the notice you need in the coming period.
If you do have those doubts, think of what brought you here in the first place then think, has that case became stronger? Has it been professionally kept tight lipped? Do you sense that you are about to find yourself on the cusp of something great?
Then stick around by switching off. Keep yourself calm and controlled and don't play into the hands of those with their own agendas
