No mention of them panning the area's first to see what was there!!
Yes HKK, I topped up yesterday.
Gold mining isn't an overnight miracle and Alba are taking the right steps. Might find small gold now but bigger in the veins.
Technology advancement will make it easier to extract and examine for gold.
Yes Ian67 - I extracted that assay turn-round is 2 weeks too!!
The bit I like is the actually words:
" while we continue with our work to prove up, through drilling, the new gold-bearing zones within the mine complex which will ultimately justify a decision to reopen the mine for long-term commercial production."
'to prove up' & 'ultimately justify'
AND
"and we believe there are good prospects for finding significant quantities of gold in the finer grain-size fractions within the dump."
'we believe' & 'significant quantities'
and as others said - extraction at a size previous mining would not have been able to extract?
40im, sell up and move on then.
Revising my incorrect initial post on the amount of aggregate - we are looking at approx 1100 grab lorry loads per 20000 tonne. Even if there is only very fine grades of gold found within, this could amount to quite a substantial total in gold. If would be good if during the initial stages of the processing, we are advised if gold has been found. This could be the turning point here.
HKK You must have a rather large holding.....
The short term win I’m most interested in is the draining of the mine as there is confirmed visible gold there so once they get that OK’d & moving soon that’s going to be good news
Beg your pardon kitty you are correct - not sure how I got that wrong!
Standing corrected, we are looking at a vaste amount of aggregate to be processed.
A tipper/grab lorry holds 18 tonnes not 20,000
I had 28 of them to clear my garden
20,000 tonnes is just over 1 tipper / grab lorry of material - so approximately 7 loads of material are being looked at. This shouldn’t take too long to move with the use of a digger and dumper - if the material is relatively accessible.
If the individual pieces of rock / aggregate are quite small, this in theory shouldn’t take long to crush and put through the processing plant.
Assuming that all this left over rock is from the same source, I see no reason for the need to evaluate individual areas of this rock, so they should be able to pile it up next to the processing plant and start work almost straight away ?
I would’ve thought it’s almost certain some grades of gold will have been left behind - years ago the gold was probably picked out by eye, or washed out. This is a successful method if the gold is plentiful, which its proven it was, so I’m confident the finer grains will be caught, now we have a modern method of extraction with our processing plant.
No idea what the excitement is about. They’re looking for scraps in a waste bin.... seriously George, pull yourself together and deliver what you’ve been promising for yonks
Again a completely pointless RNS worst share I have ever invested in .
Nice anyone who topped up in dip yesterday
Nice that they listened & have clarified in detail what’s occurring - not poor results like people assumed just easy pickings whilst drilling commences & they perfect the extraction techniques - I’m happier now for the clearer communication (& listening)..... GLA
Great way to improve cash flow. The tailings from older mines hold ore that older machinery couln't extract. The best part from me was the mention of turnaround times. Middle of next month with 2 week extraction time. So basically they are saying TAT for results is hopefully 2 weeks. So our other assayresults are due?
Early Revenue Streams !
More George positivity.
"One such potential source of early revenue is in the waste rock dump at Clogau. We estimate that this dump contains around 20,000 tonnes of rock extracted from the mine during previous periods of production, and we believe there are good prospects for finding significant quantities of gold in the finer grain-size fractions within the dump"
"it is Alba's opinion that there could be significant quantities of gold still left in the finer grain size fractions within the waste rock dump."
George Frangeskides, Executive Chairman, commented:
"We are constantly looking for ways to unlock early revenue streams at Clogau-St David's while we continue with our work to prove up, through drilling, the new gold-bearing zones within the mine complex which will ultimately justify a decision to reopen the mine for long-term commercial production."

"Although we will be initially shifting a lot of rock in this exercise - around 135 tonnes of it - the samples that we will be screening, collecting and sending for assay will only weigh around 50-100kg per pit. Assuming normal processing times at our preferred external assay laboratory, we expect, therefore, to have a definitive answer on the gold-bearing potential of the waste rock dump by the middle of next month."
