The suggestion posted on this BB by one of its contributors some time ago was that Man Capital has a big (maybe the controlling) interest in Seafox and my understanding is that they exist in a tax domicile.

I once tried to follow the chain/trail of ownership of a company which 'lived' in a similar tax free environment in the Caribbean, and I ended up throwing in the towel having travelled much of the world, from one tax haven to an other and each with a change of corporate identity or subdivision of interests. It was a revelatory journey and one which, at the end of the day, demonstrated the futility of such an exercise and how easy it is for corporate entities to be used by people (human beings) to disguise their ownership of companies or shareholdings in them through nominee companies. I commend you on making the effort, though, pb. I hope that you enjoyed the excursion :-)

I wont mention Seafox after this, as you said we need to move on from them, other than as I tried to find out more about ownership I read a lot of things peripheral to it.
I am not sure if Seafox couldn't add to its workload (or buy it back if work picks up?).
I read somewhere they only sold a controlling interest (they still own a substantial part of it) and what contractual conditions are put on that sale only they know.
Financially a takeover looks unlikely from that quarter that's true.
At wanting to buy 25% at 18pps they managed just under 14% when they stopped.
So yes it would be costly.it certainly wouldn't come at 18pps But the 14% did come cheap.
I didn't find that much on Seafox ownership (my fault probably) so I couldn't tell how much backing there is .
But with Seafox 5 it would not surprise me if industry workload increases and Seafox gets the opportunity, they have some sort of clause in there to buy it back.
You never know they might use the profit off of GMS increasing to do it!

Absolutely pb. What seems to have exercised some people's minds with this stock is how Seafox might mount a bid to t/o the Co on the cheap and take it private too. Of course, that's all stuff and nonsense. Seafox doesn't have the financial clout to mount a bid for GMS - that they have had to sell Seafox 5, even at the expense of being able to sell a fleet of vessels to GMS, proves that they're not up to paying what it would cost anyone to mount a serious bid for GMS.

Anyway, we have to move on from this mentality. We've had the GM where Seafox's Resolutions were roundly defeated and, yet, they have declared their intention to remain invested. They've seen the opportunity of a win-win situation and they've made their play. They've lost, at one level but they'll surely win at the other when the SP rises here.

No big, damaging, sell-offs whether by Seafox or CF's Administrators, as has been trawled by speccie Traders - they're all far too savvy for that, IMHO. Time will tell.

I agree,
I they did pull the recovery back down. I have never seen an offer of a lower value than its trading PRICE before.
Quite remarkable!!
Am I right that Seafox isn't a listed company?
Its a private LTD company?

That would be altruistic pb. Whatever Seafox is about (and in the absence of any evidence to the contrary we can only take what they say at face value), they're certainly not going to be involved in the stock to suffer a loss. They pulled the 'rampant' SP back from 21pps with their RNS so they know that there is that much/little there anyway.

Tx for the B'day wishes and the same to everyone who bought the shares today in order to put a smile on my face! What a nice present!
