It's the principle of the matter for me. I will not pay a 2.5% surcharge for paying for a holiday with a credit card if there is no charge for using a debit card. I'll also not pay to click and collect from a retailer if the same stuff or similar can be clicked and collected free of charge elsewhere. The spd share price is not looking too healthy since the House of Fraser deal is it. You would have done well to short it. I'm not sure about selling luxury goods in Hull and the like. That's probably why HoF were making a loss. Goodnight from me as I'm tired. I actually get out and about and experience stuff first hand.
"Bucher said the £200 silk dress had been a sell out so do we really want to charge customers buying goods to that value an additional £5. "
QE...if it was a sell out then who cares having to spend another £5 for a voucher ...if you want the dress you just do it
£5 is an extra 2.5% and you get a voucher ...come on ...hardly a big deal
No Pokerchips. I was "pi**ed off ...." in spd having to pay £4.99 for a reasonable sized transaction for the privilege of clicking and collecting there. I used the voucher for a big spd desk top calculator which is fine for arithmetic but pretty hopeless for maths.
This isn't an Ashley idea at all. Debenhams have periodically included money off vouchers in click and collect parcels to be used against future spends. Ashley wanted them to charge £4.99 (like spd for all click and collect orders in order to receive a voucher to spend in store) even for high value transactions which would be a faux pas as far as I'm concerned and I obviously do a lot of shopping at Debenhams. Bucher said the £200 silk dress had been a sell out so do we really want to charge customers buying goods to that value an additional £5.
I note Odey increasing their short position others decreasing.
"when they collect their Click and Collect parcel they'll receive their voucher.which is only available whilst stocks last."
So if you pick up and they have no vouchers you are gonna be pretty pi**ed off ....
They better make sure they tell you beforehand if the vouchers at your store have run out
Ashley voiced the idea that the customer should pay for click and collect and in return get a voucher for that price ...didnt he ??
This idea was voiced by Ashley just a couple of weeks ago. Looks like they have taken his idea on board this time.

Debenhams are giving away £5 vouchers to customers who Click and Collect
They're giving away vouchers to everyone who uses the new service
Debenhams shoppers, we have good news - when you shop using their latest Click and Collect service, you'll be entitled to a free £5 voucher.
Savvy shoppers just need to place an order online between the 13 August and 2 September, and when they collect their Click and Collect parcel they'll receive their voucher.
HotUKDeals user ' ellenw ' spotted the deal, but you'll need to be quick as the voucher is only available whilst stocks last.
There's plenty to spend on at Debenham's too, with 20% off back to school , and 70% off a number of ranges including womens , home , and kids .
With autumn and winter fast approaching too, it's perfectly timed of early Christmas shopping too.
