Sustained Yield

Definition of 'Sustained Yield'

An output level which can be maintained consistently without causing major problems.

For example, a limited harvest in fisheries, or cycles of felling and replanting in forests would not damage future yields.

This is in contrast with over-farming or resource mining, which reduces the expected level of yield for future years.
