Update re Acquisition of Portage Minerals Inc.

Filing of Articles of Amalgamation

Further to the announcement on 13 September 2013, the Company is pleased to announce that Portage Minerals Inc. ("Portage") has filed the articles of amalgamation for Portage and Tri-Star Antimony Canada Inc. ("Tri-Star Antimony"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tri-Star Resources, pursuant to a three-cornered amalgamation (the "Amalgamation") approved by the shareholders of Portage on 12 September 2013. Closing of the Amalgamation is expected to occur on 4 October 2013, which is when the parties expect to receive the certificate of amalgamation.

Application will be made for the new Tri-Star Shares (as detailed in the announcement dated 13 September 2013) to be admitted to trading on AIM, with admission expected to take place on the same day as completion being 8 October 2013.
