HALMA p.l.c.TREASURY SHARE TRANSACTION

Halma p.l.c. announces that it has purchased 230,000 of its ordinary shares on 12 January 2009 through Dresdner Kleinwort at an average price of 201.64p per share. The purchased shares will not be subject to cancellation and will all be held as treasury shares in order to satisfy awards under the Halma p.l.c. Performance Share Plan 2005.

Following the above transactions, Halma p.l.c. holds 1,274,108 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 374,036,968.
