Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 11 September 2008 it purchased 370,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 238.75 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 232.00 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 414.164 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 234.5079 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
