Transaction in own shares

Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 28 May 2008 it purchased 275,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 251.75 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 248.75 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 307,825 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 250.0845 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
