SHARE AWARD UNDER THE BUSINESS UNIT SENIOR MANAGEMENT INCENTIVE SCHEME

Emerald Energy Plc (the "Company") is pleased to provide the following update:

The Company has today made application for 14,045 Ordinary Shares to be listed on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange no later than 15 June 2009. The shares have been issued pursuant to the vesting of performance related awards made to senior operations staff under the Business Unit Senior Management Incentive Scheme. Following this transaction, the issued share capital of the Company will be 62,661,613 Ordinary Shares.
