Significant event to be reported:

OMV Petrom to pay an additional tax representing solidarity contribution

 

On 12th May, 2023, the Law no. 119/2023 for the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance 186/2022 for the implementation of the Council Regulation (EU) 2022/1854 regarding the solidarity contribution was published in the Official Gazette.

For companies that produce and refine crude oil, the law introduces the obligation to pay RON 350 for each tonne of crude oil processed in 2022 and 2023.

Consequently, OMV Petrom estimates a solidarity contribution of approximately RON 1,500 mn for the fiscal year 2022, to be paid at the end of June 2023. This will be reflected in Q2/23 in the Income Statement as a separate line after "Profit before tax" position.

For Q1/23, the amount of the solidarity contribution is estimated at approximately RON 380 mn and will also be reflected in Q2/23 result. The contribution for the full year 2023 will be paid at the end of June 2024.
