New executive appointment and directorate change

Flybe Group plc ("Flybe") announces that Sir Timothy (Timo) Anderson will join Flybe's executive team and will be appointed Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Executive Committee. The appointment as COO will be effective from 15 October 2018 although Sir Timothy will join Flybe as an employee from 1 August 2018 and will support the business on a part time basis pending his appointment as COO. Luke Farajallah, the current COO will be leaving on 31 October 2018 to enable a smooth handover period.

A respected senior adviser in the aerospace, defence and security sector, Sir Timothy has been a non-executive director on the Flybe Board since May 2014 and has chaired the Group's Safety and Security Committee during that time. Sir Timothy will stand down from the Board on 31 July to enable him to prepare to take up this executive appointment with the Company. Prior to joining Flybe, Sir Timothy enjoyed a distinguished career in the Royal Air Force. A fighter pilot by profession, decorated for leadership and gallantry in combat operations, he rose to be Assistant Chief of Air Staff in the Ministry of Defence, responsible for the RAF's strategy. Prior to that, he held a number of senior command and executive staff appointments, including responsibility for the operations of the largest Tornado fighter base in NATO with over 6000 personnel. Latterly, he was entrusted to create and lead the UK's Military Aviation Authority, the world's first fully integrated military aviation regulatory body overseeing the regulation, training and licensing of the full spectrum of Defence aviation and related commercial sector activities.

Christine Ourmieres-Widener, CEO, said;

"I am delighted that Timo has agreed to join our executive team. His wealth of experience in aviation, logistics and safety will be invaluable to us, building on his past four years on the board. He brings exceptional leadership, management skills, cost discipline and tremendous drive that will be key for us to deliver operational excellence. I would like to thank Luke Farajallah for his hard work and enormous contribution over the last 3 years and wish him well for the future.

Sir Timothy commented;

"Over the last 4 years or more, I have been continually impressed by the quality, commitment and ambition of Flybe's employees. The Company provides a vital service that ensures quick and affordable connectivity across the UK's regions and beyond, part of a strong foundation for business and an essential communication network for our society more broadly. I am delighted to be able to transition to a role where I can build on my predecessor's successes and play a bigger part in ensuring that the Company delivers on its considerable potential for its customers, investors and employees. I look forward enthusiastically to joining Flybe's strong executive team."
