Resignation of Director

The Board of Elektron plc ("Elektron" or the "Company") announces the resignation today of Keith Roy as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.  Keith Daley, Chairman, stated "Keith Roy joined Elektron in July 2008 and has been of immense help to the Company during a difficult period of trading and restructuring. Keith Roy now wishes to focus on other interests and I wish him the very best for the future".

The Company wishes to appoint two new non-executives to the Board and is considering a number of candidates. An announcement will be made shortly.
