RESIGNATION OF CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

London:  19 August 2008 - Mercator Gold plc ("Mercator" or "the Company") announces that Mr Denis Geldard, Chief Operating Officer, and Director since February 2006, has resigned from the board for personal reasons. The resignation becomes effective on 12 September 2008.
