Carbon footprint service update

@UK, the AIM-traded eMarketplace and provider of eProcurement and eCommerce software is pleased to announce that its carbon footprint service now has orders for over 40,000 items for assessment, representing an order book of approximately £80,000 at the discounted price provided to early adopters of the service.

The Directors believe that as a result @UK's Green Marketplace will be the largest repository of carbon footprint information and there is now a compelling business case for organisations to carbon footprint their products and become carbon neutral.

The average cost to suppliers to become carbon neutral through the Green Marketplace (based on the first 15,000 items assessed) is a fraction of a penny (0.05665 pence). The Directors estimate that for most organisations invoicing on paper, the cost of each paper invoice on average is in excess of 50 pence. This compares to @UK's average carbon offset cost for each electronic invoice of 0.05665 pence (in addition to the one-off carbon footprint assessment charge of £4 per item).

The @UK PLC Green Marketplace was launched by Richard Benyon MP, Minister for Natural Environment and Fisheries on 7 October 2010, and the Directors believe that it now has substantially more products than other carbon repositories.

The Directors believe that the market size for @UK carbon's foot printing services is approximately 3.6 million products, based on prior analysis undertaken by @UK's SpendInsight and eMarketplace services.
