APPOINTMENT OF GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

Marston's PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Andrea as Group Finance Director, with effect from 31 March 2009. Andrew joined Marston's in 2002, and is currently Commercial Director acting for both Marston's Pub Company and Marston's Beer Company.

Andrew's appointment follows Paul Inglett's previously announced decision to leave the Board to pursue other opportunities. Paul will step down from the Board on 31 March but, in line with the announcement of 3 February, he expects to remain with Marston's to facilitate a smooth handover to Andrew until the publication of the Group's interim results in May.

NOTES FOR EDITORS:

Andrew (39) joined Marston's in 2002 as Divisional Finance Director, Marston's Beer Company, subsequently becoming Operations Director for Marston's Pub Company, the tenanted and leased pub division of Marston's, in 2006 before moving to his current role. He has extensive financial and commercial experience gained from within and outside the Group.

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse before joining Guinness Brewing Worldwide as a senior financial analyst in 1996. He subsequently worked as Financial and Information Manager for Bass Brewers Ltd before moving to Dollond & Aitchison where his final role was as Franchise Commercial Manager.

Andrew is married with two children.

Marston's confirms that there is no other information required to be disclosed under the requirements of Listing Rule 9.6.13R in relation to this appointment. 

Marston's is one of the UK's leading independent brewer and pub operators.

It has an estate of circa 2,250 pubs and bars situated across England and Wales and is the UK's leading brewer of premium cask ales, including Marston's Pedigree and Jennings Cumberland Ale. The beer portfolio also includes Banks's, Brakspear, Hobgoblin, Mansfield and Ringwood beers.

The estate comprises 1,733 tenanted or leased pubs, and 506 managed pubs including Marston's Tavern Table, Two for One and Pitcher & Piano.
