Appointment of new Chairman
Xchanging plc ('Xchanging'), the business process and technology services provider and integrator, announces the appointment of Geoff Unwin to the role of Chairman. On 1 December 2011 he will join the Board, initially as a non-executive director. In December he will, in addition, be appointed to the Nominations Committee. Nigel Rich will stand down as Chairman on 31 December 2011, and on 1 January 2012 Geoff Unwin will take up this role.
Geoff Unwin brings to the Board extensive international experience in the technology and services sector. He spent over 20 years at Hoskyns, the computer services company, latterly as Managing Director and then Executive Chairman. From 1990 - 2002 he held roles at Capgemini, the Management and IT consulting firm, rising to Chief Executive Officer in 2000.
Since 2002, Geoff Unwin has held a number of Chairmanships. For periods during 2002 - 2010 he was Chairman of United Business Media PLC, Liberata PLC, Omnibus Systems Ltd and Alliance Medical. He is currently Chairman of Taptu, RD Card Holdings Limited, OpenCloud, and Halma plc. He is also a non-voting Board member of Capgemini and an advisory Board member of Palamon Capital Partners.
