Wolf strengthens the Hemerdon Project management team

Specialty metals exploration and development company, Wolf Minerals Limited (ASX: "WLF", AIM: "WLFE") ("Wolf" or the "Company") is pleased to announce details of a number of senior appointments to its project management team at the Hemerdon tungsten and tin project in Devon, in southwest England.

Wolf continues to make strong progress in its goal to bring the Hemerdon Project in to production as a major new source of global tungsten supply. The Company recently finalised a ~$215.9 million funding package for the project (ASX announcement, 10 May 2013), and completed the first draw down of funds which enabled the Company to formally commence development at Hemerdon (ASX announcement, 12 June 2013).

The funding has also allowed Wolf to move forward with the appointment of additional key management personnel at the project, and it now advises the following management appointments at its Wolf Minerals (UK) Ltd subsidiary.

Mr Mike Lean has been appointed Commercial and Financial Manager. He has prior experience in the extractive industry in the region, having worked for English China Clays PLC, in Cornwall. Mr Lean has also had previous roles with major construction group, Morrison Construction and UK based international building materials company, Hanson PLC.

Mr Barnaby Hudson has been appointed Environmental Manager. He has international experience in the mining sector having worked in Australia and Africa. In his role with Wolf, Mr Hudson will work closely with local and regulatory authorities, including Devon County Council and the Environment Agency, to ensure the Hemerdon project meets strict environmental controls.

Mr John Briggs has taken on the role of Mineral Planning and Estates Manager. He has lived in Devon for 25 years and has extensive experience in the extractive and waste management industries. This includes having worked at a senior level at Sibelco's Devon China Clay operations.

In addition, the Hemerdon Project management team has also been further strengthened by the appointment of Civil Superintendent Charlotte Wilkins, Construction Manager David Henderson, Human Resources Manager Mr Martin Hill and Plant and Infrastructure Manager Ian Reynolds.

Commenting on the new appointments, Wolf's Managing Director Humphrey Hale said:

"The Company have moved from an exploration and development Company to a Company that is in the process of bringing a new tungsten mine into production. I am very pleased with the progress being made on the project and the ability of the Company to attract such a highly experienced team of professionals to take the Hemerdon project forward. We are very proud of being able to recruit many of our senior staff from the local region for what it is a globally significant project."

Further new management appointments

In addition to the above new hires, the company has also finalised the appointments of the three further senior management positions, with these roles to commence during September and October.

Mr Andy Bond will join the Company as Mines Manager, Mr David Howourth will take up the role of Health and Safety Manager and Mr Charlie Northfield has been appointed Process Plant Manager. Mr Bond is a Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in the local mining industry, having previously worked in the Cornish tin industry and, since 1989, with Imerys Minerals as manager of the Karslake Superpit in Cornwall and Devon Operations Manager.

Mr Howourth has 28 years industry experience which includes operational management and health and safety. He commenced his career as a mining engineer in Sierra Leone, in Africa, and will join Wolf from Aggregate Industries where has held a number of senior health and safety roles.

Mr Northfield has more than 30 years experience in the minerals industry, working on a range of projects across all stages of the development cycle, in Asia and Africa. He has strong experience in managing process plants, including in tungsten, tin and gold.

The Hemerdon Project management team will be based at its UK head office, at the Tamar Science Park in Plymouth, which is located close to the Hemerdon Project site. It is anticipated that the project will generate 230 direct jobs, plus many more indirect jobs, when in full production, which is expected to inject millions of pounds into the local economy and provide an environment to develop new skills in the region.

Wolf plans to continue its personnel recruitment process for the Hemerdon Project over the coming months.
