VTB Bank Supervisory Council appoints Denis Bortnikov as member of VTB Bank Management Board
The VTB Bank Supervisory Council on October 26th, 2011 appointed Denis Bortnikov as member of VTB Bank Management Board, subject to approval by the Central Bank of Russia.
As a member of the Management Board, Denis Bortnikov will continue to run the North-West Regional Center of VTB Bank.
Denis Bortnikov has 15 years of experience in the banking industry. He started his career in 1996 at Industry and Construction Bank. When the Bank was acquired by VTB and renamed to VTB Bank North-West in 2007, Denis Bortnikov was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and in 2011, after completing the integration of VTB Bank North-West into VTB Bank, Denis Bortnikov became Senior Vice President and Head of the North-West Regional Center of VTB Bank.
Denis Bortnikov's candidacy was proposed and approved by the Supervisory Council in order to broaden and improve the governance system of VTB. The appointment brings the number of Board members to 11, close to the number of 12 required by the Supervisory Council Resolution from June 19th , 2010.
Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board, said: "Denis Bortnikov's appointment reflects the increasing role of the North-West Regional Center in the Group. I am confident that his knowledge of the Russian banking sector and experience in project management will allow to expand our reach not only in the North-West of Russia, but in other strategic regions of VTB Group's presence."

Denis Alexandrovich Bortnikov was born on 19 November 1974. He graduated from the St.Petersburg University of Economics and Finance, majoring in national economy. From 1996 to 2004, Denis Bortnikov worked for JSC Industry and Construction Bank (to be renamed in June 2007 in JSC VTB Bank North-West). From 2004 - Advisor to General Director of the North-West Branch of GUTA-BANK. From 2005 - Deputy General Manager of Vneshtorgbank Retail Services. From 2006 - Deputy General Manager of JSC Vneshtorgbank Branch in St.Petersburg. From November 2007 - Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, from August 2010 - First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, from 01 February 2011 - Chairman of JSC VTB Bank North-West Management Board (presently - JSC VTB Bank North-West Regional Center). After JSC VTB Bank North-West was fully integrated into JSC VTB Bank, Denis Bortnikov became Head of JSC VTB Bank North-West Regional Center and VTB Senior Vice President.
