Ultrasis announce new customer for US Joint Venture

Ultrasis, the leading provider of cognitive behavioral therapy for stress and mild to moderate depression, is pleased to announce that its US joint venture, U² Interactive has secured a two year contract with COMCARE of Sedgwick County Kansas ("COMCARE").

COMCARE helps people with mental health and substance abuse needs to improve the quality of their lives. COMCARE provides a wide array of mental health and substance abuse services to residents of Sedgwick County and will make Beating the Blues US available across its entire service offering. COMCARE is the largest of the 27 Community Mental Health Centers in the State of Kansas and is committed to helping individuals served lead more productive lives.

Joan Tammany, Director at COMCARE of Sedgwick County said "We are extremely pleased to be working in partnership with U² Interactive to make Beating the Blues available within our service offering. With Beating the Blues we have found an affordable, evidence based and innovative solution that will empower clients to take a more active role in managing their overall health by treating their depression and anxiety. We also believe that we will be able effectively and easily to touch more lives through the use of this online treatment tool and we plan to use it to both support current services and as an adjunct treatment option to traditional office based services for clients who contact us for services."

She added "With advances in technology, integration efforts with primary care and cuts to mental health funding, it is important to look for quality treatment options that are also cost effective. Beating the Blues meets all of those criteria. COMCARE values the scientific research behind Beating the Blues and anticipates our clients will achieve positive outcomes with this exciting patient centered approach to care."

Nigel Brabbins, CEO at Ultrasis, said "With the current healthcare reforms in the US challenging the insurers and providers to think of more affordable ways to deliver high quality services, we are delighted to have COMCARE as a customer to help us to demonstrate the benefits that can be achieved by using Beating the Blues. Beating the Blues is receiving excellent press in the US and we will continue to promote the cost and clinical benefits of using computerised CBT to treat depression and anxiety"

He added "We believe that the recent publication by the California Healthcare Foundation, and the two successful National Institute for Mental Health grants awarded to the University of Pittsburgh and the Indiana University School of Medicine, have all combined to generate significant interest in Beating the Blues."
