Urals Energy, an independent oil exploration and production company today announces the appointment of Vasiliy Sechin as an independent non-executive director to the Board.
Mr Sechin has higher military education and from 1987 until 1996 served in national security and was responsible for monitoring the oil and gas industry in Tyumen region. After that he was a Finance Director of "Tyumen Engines" (Tyumenskie Motory) and from 1996 Chairman of ZAO ZapSibTekhProm Moscow. Mr Sechin's appointment is designed to further strengthen the Board and will assist the Company's ongoing strategy review.
As announced on 18 May the Company continues to progress in its discussions with Sberbank regarding restructuring options beyond the previously proposed asset divestiture and further announcements will be made in due course.
