Thomas Cook Group appoints a new Non-Executive Director
Thomas Cook Group plc announces that Martine Verluyten will join the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from today.
Martine has held a number of senior finance positions across the telecommunications, electronics and materials sectors and has significant international financial and IT expertise.
She is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Umicore, a Brussels-based listed materials technology group, a position she has held since 2006. Prior to joining Umicore she was Group Controller and subsequently Chief Financial Officer of the mobile telephone operator Mobistar, after joining the company in 2000 from Raychem, a material science company.
Commenting on the appointment, Thomas Cook Group Chairman, Michael Beckett said, "This appointment further strengthens and enhances our Board, in line with its policy on diversity. Martine brings valuable expertise and significant international experience to our deliberations as we deliver against our strategy and create value for our shareholders."
