Severstal Releases Q1 2010 Operational Results
April 26, 2010 - Severstal (LSE: SVST) today released its Q1 2010 operational results.
SALES VOLUMES
Q1 2010 overview
Beginning Q1 2010 Severstal will report sales volumes instead of production for sale as it has been done previously. At the same time we will keep informing the market on the total production throughput of key materials, including hot metal and crude steel.
Production of crude steel in Q1 2010 was 4 727 thousand tonnes, 2% higher than in the previous quarter. Total sales of iron ore pellets in Q1 2010 was 17% lower than in Q4 2009, iron ore concentrate sales decreased by 25% and coal sales was down by 6%.
