Appointment of non-executive Directors

Stobart, one of the UK's leading providers of multimodal transport and logistics services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jesper Kjaedegaard and Daniel Dayan as non-executive Directors with immediate effect.

The Group announced at the time of its final results in May 2009 that it would be appointing new non-executive directors who had the necessary blend of operational and commercial expertise to help it in its next stage of development. 

Jesper Kjaedegaard (age 51) was formerly CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk (West and Central Asia) and CEO of Maersk Company UK Ltd, the largest ship owner in the UK. Jesper has more than 30 years' experience in the shipping industry, and has international experience in winning concessions to build and operate large container terminals/inland ports.

In early 2009, he co-founded Mercator International, an international transport and infrastructure advisory group. He is also current President of the British Chamber of Shipping and a non-executive Director of the Maersk Company UK Ltd and non-executive Chairman of Maersk Supply (offshore) Services Ltd. Jesper will also be appointed to the Remuneration Committee.

Daniel Dayan (age 45) is currently CEO of Fiberweb plc, a London-listed company which is a world leader in non-woven fabrics. Between 1994 and 2005 he was employed by Novar plc, in a variety of general management and functional positions, including Head of Corporate Development and Chief Executive Officer of Novar's largest division, Intelligent Building Systems. He was a Director of Novar plc from January 2004 until its acquisition by Honeywell in March 2005. Earlier in his career, he worked in manufacturing management with ICI plc and as a management consultant for Arthur D. Little. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. Daniel will also be appointed to the Audit Committee.

Daniel has very solid operational and PLC experience and has been directly involved in the procurement of logistics services. This experience gives him a strong customer perspective. 

"Finally, I can confirm that there are no further details in respect of Jesper Kjaedegaard and Daniel Dayan requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13."
