Appointment of independent Non-Executive Director
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Smith as an independent Non-Executive Director of STM with immediate effect. Peter will Chair the Audit & Risk Committee and be a member of the Remuneration Committee.
Peter is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience in the financial services sector. Peter was Chief Financial Officer of Lighthouse Group plc ("Lighthouse") from 2008 until 20219 when the business was acquired by Quilter plc. Most recently, Peter has been an adviser to Quilter in respect of its integration of Lighthouse Group Plc. Between 2005-2008, Peter was Chief Financial Officer of Sumus Plc, another quoted financial services business, which was subsequently acquired by Lighthouse. Prior to this, Peter held a number of senior finance roles, including corporate finance partner at KPMG.
Commenting on the appointment, Nigel Birrell, Non-Executive Chair, said:
