Sportech PLC31 August 2007 Sportech PLC Competition Commission provisionally clears proposed acquisition of Vernons Football Pools Sportech PLC (the "Company"), the UK's leading football gaming business, notesthe provisional findings of the Competition Commission, published earlier today,which indicate that the Company's proposed acquisition of Vernons Football Poolswill not lead to a substantial lessening of competition. The Company is pleased that the proposed acquisition has been provisionallycleared, and will continue to work closely with the Competition Commissionthrough to its final decision.
