Appointment of Will Muirhead as Managing Director of Footballpools.com
Sportech PLC ("Sportech" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that it has appointed Will Muirhead as Managing Director of the Company's online football gaming businesses, Footballpools.com. Will, who will sit on the Company's executive board, joins the business ahead of the official relaunch of The New Football Pools to coincide with the start of the next football season in August.
Will has been appointed to realise Sportech's competitive growth strategy for its online football businesses. He will be responsible for developing Sportech's existing online football products, building new gaming products, acquiring content businesses, and forming key strategic relationships to further the development of the online business.
Prior to joining Sportech Will founded and ran two successful new media initiatives. In 2006 he launched Tixdaq, which is now the leading provider of data to the live music industry and its consumer facing arm, Tixdaq.com, is the UK's leading event ticket price comparison service. Previously Will founded SportEV, a company that devised and implemented strategies and solutions for the world's leading football rights holders including, FIFA, UEFA, Premier League and Serie A. SportEV was acquired by the Press Association in 2005 and currently delivers Premier League video to online and mobile entities in 110 territories worldwide.
