Share plc (AIM:SHRE.LN) announces that its subsidiary, The Share Centre Limited, on 7 October 2015, sold 77,000 of the shares it held in the London Stock Exchange Group plc. Having taken up the Company's entitlement to its rights in last year's rights issue, the Company held 222,727 shares and has therefore today reduced this holding to 145,727 shares. The sale realised proceeds of £1.93 million which will serve to further strengthen the Company's balance sheet. The Company continues to hold the remaining shares in the London Stock Exchange Group plc as a strategic investment given that the Share plc Group serves retail investors who play a key role in the market and is itself AIM quoted.
