Board Appointment

Gareth Thomas joins as Non-executive Director

Share plc (AIM: SHRE.LN), parent company of The Share Centre (a leading independent retail stockbroker) and Sharefunds (the Group's investment management and fund administration subsidiary), is pleased to announce the appointment, subject to regulatory approval, of Gareth Thomas as a Non-executive Director. He has also been appointed, subject to regulatory approval, to the Boards of The Share Centre Limited and Sharefunds Limited. A further announcement will be made upon such regulatory approval being forthcoming.

Gareth was an executive Board director for ten years of John Lewis Partnership plc ("John Lewis"), the UK retailer, until his retirement in 2010, having started his career at the retailer in 1979 as a graduate trainee. At John Lewis he established a track record for delivering strong growth and financial results and was a passionate believer in the importance of customer service and brand. His final Board role was as Retail Director, having previously been Director of Design and Development and Director of Retail Operations. As Retail Director he led a team of approximately 150 in Head Office and was responsible for all business areas excluding supply chain and product purchase, and for the employee and customer experience.

Since leaving John Lewis, Gareth has continued to provide consultancy advice to retailers and is a Director of NaturePaint Ltd, the manufacturer of natural paints Gareth is also a Non-executive Director and Trustee of TATE and TATE Enterprises Ltd., one of the UK's leading national art galleries.
