SDL Launches SLATE Self-service, On-demand Translation Solution

SLATE combines SDL's Linguistic AI™, advanced neural machine translation and expert translation services to deliver on-demand, secure content translation for business

SDL (LSE: SDL), the intelligent language and content company, announces the launch of SLATE - Smart Language Translation for the Enterprise - its new self-service platform for secure, on-demand translation. Based on a subscription model, SLATE enables professionals in any part of a business to directly access secure, world-class neural machine translation, with most content processed instantly, along with optional expert human review.

Through the intuitive, self-service online platform, SLATE provides all parts of a business with access to SDL's world-class and secure neural machine translation, covering dozens of languages including some of the world's most difficult, like Chinese, Korean and Russian. When required, users can easily upgrade the service within the same application to human review or revision, which is delivered by SDL's trusted network of over 17,000 expert translators. Operating under a monthly subscription model based on typical document volumes means predictable spend for customers and transparent service levels and delivery times, with most content being processed instantly. SLATE works with many different formats, from Microsoft Word documents and PDFs, to Adobe InDesign files and subtitles for videos.
