Regal Petroleum PLC09 October 2006 For Immediate Release 9 October 2006 REGAL PETROLEUM PLC ("Regal" or "the Company") Senior Management Appointments The Company is pleased to announce that the following senior managementappointments have been made:- 1. Mr Neil Ritson, who joined the Company as a Non-Executive Director in July 2006, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. Mr Ritson, aged 50, has had a lengthy career as an executive in the oil and gas industry. He began his career as a geophysicist with BP Plc before moving through senior technical roles into executive management. 2. Mr David Scott has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of the Company with immediate effect. Mr Scott is aged 49 and has over 25 years experience in operational management in the oil and gas industry. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. He started his career with Conoco spending 9 years working within drilling and engineering roles before joining Enterprise Oil. He then spent time with Hardy Oil & Gas before joining Burlington Resources, where he remained for 8 years, leading to a position of General Manager Drilling & Production. 3. Mr Francesco Scolaro has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, having previously been a Non-Executive Director.
