Directorate changes

The Rank Group Plc ("Rank" or the "Company") announces the appointment of Mr. Chew Seong Aun as a non-executive director with immediate effect. 

Alex Thursby, Rank's chairman, said "I am pleased to welcome Seong Aun to the Rank board. Seong Aun brings a wealth of financial and commercial experience to the board and will be able to further enhance the good communication established between Rank and its major shareholder."

Further to the announcement made on 8 December 2020, Mr. Tang Hong Cheong will be retiring from the board with immediate effect.

Biography of Mr. Chew Seong Aun

Chew Seong Aun is Executive Director and the Group Chief Financial Officer of Guoco Group Limited ("GGL"). He joined Hong Leong Financial Group Berhad ("HLFG"), GGL's associated company listed on Bursa Malaysia, as Chief Financial Officer in 2006. Seong Aun has been the Chairman of the Investment Committee of Hong Leong Asset Management Berhad ("HLAM"), a subsidiary of HLFG, since 2013 and Chairman of HLAM's Board since 2017. Prior to joining the Hong Leong Group, Seong Aun held various senior banking positions in the UK and Asia. He was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer of GGL on 1 November 2020.

Seong Aun obtained a Bachelor of Science (Eng) degree in Civil Engineering (Honours) from Imperial College, University of London and is an ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) qualified Chartered Accountant (FCA). He is also a Chartered Banker of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers in Malaysia. He has more than 30 years' experience in finance and banking.
