RIT Capital Partners plc ('RIT') announces that John Cornish will retire as a non-executive director of RIT at the conclusion of its next Annual General Meeting, to be held on 26 April 2018. 

 Lord Rothschild, Chairman of RIT, commented:

 "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank John for his significant contribution to the Company. Over the last ten years, he has served on numerous Board Committees and chaired the Audit and Risk Committee as well as the Valuation Committee with great distinction. We are deeply grateful to John for his wise counsel, his diligence and his commitment. We wish him all the very best for his retirement."

With effect from Mr. Cornish's retirement at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting:

(i) Amy Stirling, an independent non-executive director, will become Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.

(ii) Mike Power, an independent non-executive director, will become Chair of the Valuation Committee.
