Swansea based Pure Wafer plc, the provider of high quality silicon wafer reclaim services for many of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers announces that at his request, due to other commitments, Giles Clarke has stepped down as non-executive chairman with immediate effect, and will remain on the board as deputy chairman and a non-executive director. 

The Board is pleased to  announce that Eurfyl ap Gwilym has been appointed as non-executive chairman. Eurfyl has served on the Pure Wafer Board since its IPO in December 2004 in the roles of non-executive director, chairman of the remuneration committee and deputy chairman of the board.

Eurfyl ap Gwilym has a PhD in Physics and after an early career with Unilever has held senior and board positions with a number of high tech companies: he was General Manager of the Office Computer Division of Philips; Managing Director of GE Information Services and UK National Executive for GE; and Chief Executive of BIS Banking Systems, a division of Nynex Inc. Eurfyl has held a number of board positions in private and public companies and is currently Deputy Chairman of Principality Building Society and a non-executive director of NCC Group plc.

Eurfyl ap Gwilym, non-executive chairman, said:
