Directorate Appointment

Petards Group plc ("Petards" or the "Company"), the AIM quoted developer of advanced security and surveillance systems, announces that it has appointed Osman Abdullah (aged 64) as a non-executive director to the Board with effect from 30 September 2010.

Osman Abdullah is a representative of Water Hall Group plc which owns 29.99 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. He does not beneficially own any ordinary shares in Petards.

Osman Abdullah has no other current directorships. He was a non-executive director of UMECO plc from 1993 to 2005 which experienced substantial growth over that period.

There are no other disclosures required in accordance with Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules.

Commenting on Mr Abdullah's appointment, Petards Chairman Tim Wightman said "Since Water Hall Group plc significantly increased its investment in Petards in June 2010 we have been exploring with them how they might best assist us in achieving our strategy. I am therefore pleased to welcome Osman to the Petards' Board and look forward to working with him in developing the Group's potential. Osman has considerable commercial experience across a wide range of industrial and supply chain management businesses as well as extensive contacts in the Middle East in particular in Saudi Arabia."
