TULU KAPI DRILLING UPDATE

HIGHLIGHTS
·; On track for 2nd Quarter JORC compliant resource update
·; 35 holes completed
·; Positive assay results received for first 18 RC holes
·; Peak gold intersections achieved to date include more than 10 intersections in excess of 11g/t, of which 8 of those intersections exceed 14g/t and headline grades of 22.7g/t Au over 1m and 21.2g/t Au over 1m were recorded (see table below for details)

Nyota Minerals Limited (AIM: NYO/ ASX; NYO), which is focused on the exploration and development of gold and nickel projects in Africa, is pleased to announce assay results from the first 18 reverse circulation ('RC') holes of an ongoing drill programme at its Tulu Kapi gold project in Ethiopia. The accumulation of assay data is ongoing and, due to the significant number of high-grade intersections, repeat assay and verification will be required to confirm gold grades. An update and upgrade of the existing Tulu Kapi Inferred Resource of 690,000oz remains on track for completion during the second quarter of 2010.
Phase 1 and Phase 2 RC drilling to date shows:
·; the gold bearing lodes extend NE beyond the known limits of the Inferred Resource;
·; the existence of mineralised structures stacked beneath the previously identified lodes; and
·; that gold grades are, consistent with the expectations of Company geologists, increasing with depth.
The original diamond drill programme at Tulu Kapi intersected two lode structures. Subsequent drilling by Nyota has proven the presence of a further four lodes stacked beneath Lodes 1 and 2. Assay results clearly confirm that the gold grade is increasing with depth.
35 RC holes have been completed over the Up-Dip Extension of Tulu Kapi for a total of approximately 7,000m of drilling. To date, gold assays have been received for the first 18 holes, returning very encouraging results, including;

21.1g/t Au over 1m
19.8g/t Au over 2m
17g/t Au over 1m
16.2g/t Au over 2m
16.1g/t Au over 1m
14.4g/t Au over 1m
14g/t Au over 1m
13.6g/t Au over 1m

A table setting out comprehensive results for each of those 18 holes follows at the end of this announcement.
The Company will continue to accumulate assay data before handing over the geological interpretation and results to the independent consultant to prepare an updated resource estimation.
