Board changes
The Board of Murgitroyd announces the appointment of David McLaren Gray (60) as non-Executive Director of the Group with immediate effect.
David Gray is currently a non-Executive director of Superglass Holdings plc and Scottish Water. Prior to these roles he was a non-Executive director at F&C Asset Management PLC, Finance Director at Scottish Hydro Electric PLC and Business Development Director at Scottish and Southern Energy PLC. He began his career at KMG Thomson McLintock, where he became a Partner before spending six years as Managing Director of Caledonian Paper PLC. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a member of Court at the University of Strathclyde.
Ian Murgitroyd, Executive Chairman, commented:
"I am delighted to welcome David to the Board of Murgitroyd. He will add significant commercial expertise and public company experience to the Board and we expect that his knowledge will be highly beneficial as we continue to grow Murgitroyd in the future."
The Board of Murgitroyd also announces Executive Director G Edward Murgitroyd has been appointed Deputy Chairman, also with immediate effect. Edward, son of Ian Murgitroyd, is a Mechanical Engineering graduate and a qualified UK and European Patent Attorney, Irish Patent Agent and Community Trade Mark & Design Attorney. He is based in the Group's US east coast office in Durham, North Carolina.
Ian Murgitroyd, commenting on Edward Murgitroyd's appointment, said:
"Edward's appointment reinforces the Group's commitment to business development, and to our IP Portal offering which has been a significant component of our growth in what has been a challenging business environment in the last few years."
