Lavendon Group plc ("Lavendon" or the "Company")

RESPONSE TO STATEMENT OF INTENTION FROM ASHTEAD GROUP PLC ("ASHTEAD") AND TVH SERVICES N.V. ("TVH") NOT TO MAKE A FIRM OFFER FOR LAVENDON

The Board of Lavendon notes the announcement issued today by Ashtead and TVH that they will not proceed with an offer for the Company.

John Standen, Lavendon's Chairman, commented:
